If we do decide to go to Disney a couple times in the next year, we’re contemplating AP passes for the savings.

If I sign up for a Disney Visa do we receive 2% back on these tickets? I figured that and the $200 bonus would cut nearly $300 off the cost of APs and make it an even better bang for our buck.

Yes, you would get 2% in Disney Rewards Dollars when making a purchase from Disney using the Premier Visa. There is an annual fee which will negate some of that nearly $300 savings. Personally, I'd go for a card with no annual fee, a bigger bonus and more flexible rewards.

Ah touché! I hadn’t noticed the fee for the Premier vs the other version when I glanced quickly.

I’m not really in the ‘market’ for another card so to speak, but with a large purchase it would be nice to get more than that 1.5% I get with my Chase card.

Here's what I would do: apply for the no annual fee version for the $200 statement credit after spending $500. You won't see that offer on the Chase site, but there are ways to find it if you search for it. After you get your card, you can then refer your significant other to apply for their own card. They will get the $200 statement credit also and you will earn $100 Disney Rewards Dollars for the referral. This will give you a total $500 in savings for your annual passes!

Of course, there are other cards that are better for ongoing savings, but most require spending much more than $500 before you would earn the bonus. The Disney cards are quick and easy for a good short term savings. It's also possible to hold both versions of the Disney card, I have them both!

I’ll definitely contemplate it - I saw a few other cards last night that were a better cash back deal (and thankfully I have until September to purchase the APs if we go that route!)

Yes, there are definitely better cash back deals out there, but like I said, most of them require a higher minimum spend. If you are looking into getting into the hobby of earning credit card bonuses for travel, I would recommend jumping over to the "I love credit cards" thread. There is a lot of useful info on there. It may look intimidating at first, but everyone is super nice and if you post something about your travel goals and how you would like to use credit card points, then people are able to give you a lot of good advice. Yes. That's assuming you signed up under the $200 offer.

Thank you I was booking my trip though the disney website and it ask me if i wanted to apply, it showed the spend $500 and get $200 credit. So i applied and used it to book my vacation.
