I have been planning a trip to Disney World with my grandson (3), his parents, and his maternal grandparents. Recent unannounced news is the arrival of a new one this fall. We want to take photos while at Disney next month that will be used for the pregnancy announcement. Anyone have any suggestions on where or maybe props that we could use?

I would say go for the castle and have one of the Disney photographers take the picture. The castle is the backdrop that the average person is going to recognize even if they’re not a huge Disney fan. I haven’t been there since Covid so maybe someone who has could confirm if these photo spots are still there? (I think you have to purchase PhotoPass for these photos which is a bummer because before you could buy individual photos, but they’ll be high quality and you won’t have to try to stop a flood of people so that you can get a clear spot for your picture.)

Another one might be meeting Mickey at Town Square Theater… he’s behind a rope for social distancing right now but that could change soon.

Regarding props… this isn’t a prop exactly but I bet if you search Google or Etsy for a Disney maternity shirt they’ll have something cute!

Castle picture, maybe go to side on the bridge to Tomorrowland it’s less crowded than the hub area. Dumbo has one of its cars as a photo op. Could do something with warning signs , like everyone else getting in line for ride with mom pointing at pregnant woman can’t ride sign.

We will definitely use the Photo Pass since I've already added that to our package. I got a t-shirt off etsy that says 'Big Brother' after it scratches off ' Only Child'. I'll definitely keep Mickey in mind. Thank you for the info.

We used a photographer, and took pics all over the park, and landed on the one we took in the Dumbo elephant photo op. I used embroidered Mickey ears with "Baby X" on the back (we used the same ears the next year for first birthday pics and attempted to use them for second birthday pics but he was being VERY two that day and refused).

The gender announcement pic was a Mickey balloon tied to a rail in front of the castle so we had a little castle thrown in, too.

I added text to the picture in the editing but a lot of people bring in signs/letter boards.

We knew we wanted to use MagicBands as a way to announce. I went around the parks setting them up. This was the one we went with.
