Good News: My 2 year old can now take a dvd out of the machine and put a new one in.

Bad News: She managed to break her favourite one - the Disney Planning DVD in the process.

We are having tears here and I know this is a longshot but does anyone have a spare/unwanted one? I will also try ordering a new one. Does anyone know if it differs much from last years?

Many thanks

Jo

The new one is not very different but it is a bit easier to jump form place to place. They've been advertising it recently, or try via Virgin website

I am trying to get a Universal Studios DVD - I have a video (with Roland Revron, very funny!) but that is over a year old now and I'm sure there's lots of new stuff. Anyone have a link?

dont have a link but im a wealth of universal info and was there in november so if you want any questions answered fire away

I've got a three-day Universal ticket - DH wants to go on everything, DS(11) wants to go on a lot of things but has been a bit put off by Indiana Jones Backwards at DP and DS(5) is worried about big drops and gets travel sick.

Any suggestions welcome!!! (especially for where is good to eat) :D

*TAKES A DEEP BREATH*

a 3 day ticket should be great to see all of universal AND islands of adventure. each park is about 1 day worth of time so the third day you could go back and re-do your favourite.

Studios Side

Your DD will mainly love the stuidos side as it isnt so roller coaster based. the only really roller coaster ride there is the mummy returns but she should enjoy it as it has no loops or anything like that but there is a backwards drop so advise her about it before you go on. the rest of the park is good for all ages, earthquake, jaws, men in black, back to the future, t2:3d, shrek 4d etc etc. a great place for all ages. theres also a childrens type area your DD might appreciate.

the rides are fun enough to keep your DS interested and tame enough for your DS to ride without her getting scared.

good places to eat inside the studios itself.... for fast food Richters burger co in the san francisco area of the park does the BEST burgers ever. typical price is 6-8 bucks for a meal.

for a sit down slightly nicer meal finnegans irish bar in the new yourk sections an amazing place to eat. the food there is unreal and it isnt overly pricey. if you like sea food theres also lombards sea food grill in the san fran area.

IOA Side

your DS will probably like this side more as there is a nice variety of roller coasters for him. there are also some other water type rides for all the family.

in the marvel area theres the hulk coaster and the spiderman ride. hulk might be a bit rough for DD though the spiderman 3d type ride should be fine for her.

dudleys do wrights rip saw falls should be fine for everyone and so will blutos bilge rat barges(its a river rapid type ride) though prepare to get wet!!

in jurassic park the river adevnture should be fine for everyone though again prepare to get wet.

in lost continent dueling dragons will be great for DS. and seusland should be good for both of them.

as with all the rollercoasters i'd suggest showing them to your DD. let her watch people riding and if she doesnt want to go on its no biggy she will when shes older.

as for eating in IoA theres a burger place in the jurrassic park area thats good as well as the amazing mythos which can be found in the lost continent area. mythos has an amazing view over the lake.

Dont forget also theres a ton of places to eat in citywalk which is the commercial area universal has built literally on the door steps of their park. most are pretty good quality though i'd avoid the bob marley restaraunt after a series of bad reviews from there. city walk also has a dinner movie deal for a set price. which includes a ticket for a movie and a meal in a choice of 8 or so restaraunts on citywalk. very reasonable for the price.

Personally i prefer studios to IoA and with your DD being a little younger its likely your family will prefer the studios side too. so maybe plan to spend your third day there.

also while the coasters at IoA are good they arent mega spectaculer so after one or two rides the hulk and dueling dragons gets a little boring. dudlys and blutos still remain good though but arent rideable in colder weather due to the splash factor.

hope that helps if you have any other questions let me know :)

Thanks

I'm also wussy about coasters so if DS(5) doesn't want to go its fine by me!!
