How do I pick?

I love the foreshortening in this photo. It threw me for a loop trying to figure out where this was. You said in a later post this was shot this from atop the Contemporary tower... That takes a steady hand. What camera did you use?

Hi Martin, I used my new FZ35 with 18X optical- but it starts at a wider point than my Oly 10X so ends up near the same point as far as zoom goes if you know what I mean. I braced on the railing and it was in bright sunlight.
