Thanks Evad! DLR was great... Mostly what I expected, although I was a little surprised by California Adventure, I wasn't quite sure what to expect of it. Other than that, the castle being embarrassingly small and the fact that you could throw a stone to one of the busiest interstates in the country, yeah, it was pretty much as I expected.

I plan on writing a brief comparison of WDW and DLR so stay tuned...

Thanks Joe, Looking foward to your report!! Are you going to post any DLR pics here??

Another great one Ed. Like I said before, I love the color in your shots. Please keep them coming!!! :thumbsup2

Awesome shot!! Love it

Great picture! I will have to recreate that photo in September!:cool1:

Thanks! There's a fun story behind the pic. In the prior picture, I'm on my phone. We were in WDW in October, when some friends of ours were having a big Octoberfest party. We asked if we would get an excused absence, if we called from 'Germany' so we ordered a couple of weissbiers and called them during the party.

Oh, but it's just the right size! Nice and intimate. Cinderella's castle is just so, so ... well, big. Disclaimer: This statement is coming from a very biased Sleeping Beauty Castle Lover! :rotfl:

Glad you enjoyed your trip, Joe!

Thanks a bunch; I appreciate the kind words. I'm to the point of sorta' sifting thru the "dregs" of what I shot last July, trying to see if there are any that I haven't yet uploaded/posted that could be tweaked into better shots. In the process, I'm learning that my "crop" tool is an often overlooked tool that I should be using a lot more. Many of my recent POTD's are shots that I felt were really just so-so, but with a little different crop, looked much better. I mention that only as an aside, in the event that it may help someone else to "rescue" an otherwise bland shot. Straightening is something else that has "rescued" a bunch of my otherwise crooked and unusable shots.

BTW, the YEKCIM family is headed back to The World in three weeks, to restock my Photobucket album with fresh WDW images. I'll be using my new Nikon equipment this go-around and very hopeful to be able to improve on last visit's photos.

Everyone's pics are so awesome! One of these days, I'm going to learn how to add a picture. You all inspire me to want to take different pics when I go to Disney. I could spend all day looking at these pictures, however, I know there's something else I should be doing:mad:

I second that... cropping, straightening, and contrast and gamma controls save a LOT of pictures for me. The beauty of dig cams. If anybody out there *doesn't* know how to do these basics, go learn now, it's so easy to learn and it makes a huge difference on how some pics turn out in the end. Kind of cheating I know, but the end result is worth it.

I plan on posting a few, most of them not worth "framing". I didn't take my good camera, so most of the shots are just plain vacation pictures, but I still want to share a lot of them for fun. I'll try to get a few up soon...

Thanks quiltymom... I enjoyed Sleeping Beauty Castle FWIW. I just think it could be about twice the size. I just think it's odd when you walk down Main Street and the Matterhorn towers over the Castle. To me, the castles of the various Magic Kingdoms should be the icon of the park. And of course, the icon should stick out and be the thing that draws you in and Sleeping Beauty Castle didn't really do that for me. JMHO...

And, not to belabor the point, but there is no reason at all for anyone with a digital camera NOT to take advantage of available editing tools. At this point in time, the editing software I use is Picasa2, which is a free download, and very easy to use. It won't do everything, but it will do a lot, including straightening, cropping, "auto-contrast" (which I use on practically EVERY shot, and makes a HUGE difference, almost every time), and other effects, as well. My only real complaint is that the sharpening function is not adjustable...you either sharpen or you don't.
