Disney Picture of the day Part 2

Hi I just posted my first picture! Of course I didn't know how to add any words to say anything about it. This is obviously Disneyland and those are my two kids running up to the castle for the first time. I was inspired to figure out how to post by seeing the darling picture of the girl running up Main Street for her breakfast in the castle.

So you wouldn'tmind if oh say someone was taking your picture as you were using the restroom or say riding PoC and all you could see was the camera flashing? Notice they didn't deny using a flash....I've had to spend just as much money...it's my right for other people to follow the requests of a CM to not take pictures in a dark ride....It's not that big of a deal to not! You can get the smae photo just with real people if you take a still shot PoC, the movie!!

OKkkk, so, you think someone taking a picture of a ride is the same thing as someone taking a picture of me in the bathroom???????? :confused3
Sorry, I don't get the comparison.
And "Notice they didn't deny using the flash"? Who are you, Columbo?
Anyway, it's really not that big of a deal. It's just a picture. And unless you're a castmemeber or something, and Disney is paying you to enforce these rules, then I really don't see why you should care so much. pirate:

I disagree. It's very annoying to be blinded by the flashes of someone taking pictures in a dark ride. Besides, there are often announcements made regarding flash photography or external video lights on dark rides or shows. We are all paying lots of money, so in order to be courteous to everyone else, people need to follow those rules. :thumbsup2

I agree. Folks who take pics on rides might not know. and after an annoucnement has been made they continue.... at that point I want to shove that flash camera right up thier "zippidy doo da!" :wizard:

:sad2:
Wow, ok, well I think the only thing left to say is ANYWAYYYYYY...

Here's my pic of the day. It was taken at Animal Kingdom during the Jungle Trek and I thought it was funny.
Oh yeah, and if there's anyone who doesn't like my pictures, I would appreciate it if you DON'T let me know.
I think everyone should just enjoy the pic's and stop making pointless comments.

IMHO No need to be sorry for "controversy" :goodvibes because this isn't a picture permission debate thread; it's a pic of the day thread. I love your pic, and since you aren't asking for permission from WDW or the DIS, but are just sharing a terrific pic of the day, thank you for sharing it. POTR will be closed when we go in May so with your permission I'll share your pic w/my family instead.

I have loved this thread since it started. The pictures (even repeats - I just don't care) have made my waiting easier and will make it (ever so slightly) easier after we return from our upcoming trip with no new planning in the works.

You guys all rock! When I return, I will make myself sort and post pictures. DH is bringin his camera this time too so between us we should be able to get some nice ones I hope.

Thank you Robin Dianne, you make a great point and OFCOURSE you can share my pic :thumbsup2 ...who knew that just by sharing a nice memory of mine I could receive so much crap in return :sad2: ! I hope all the whiners out there can get over this ridiculous picture deal and get back to enjoyiong the sole purpose of this thread, and that is to share wonderful Disney memories! Now let's get back to posting :cheer2: !

Okay...so I guess most of you don't really get where I'm coming from. I'm not trying to fight....I just really can't stand it when people take pictures when they aren't supposed too. It just takes away from my experience and I don't feel that its fair...I'm sorry if I made anyone mad, but its just one of those things that gets me... :sad2:
Not to continue but it is about the flash. Apparantly it does something with the rides and sets off things that are light sensitive besides being annoying to other guests. I always take pictures inside the rides with no flash and the CM's say no problem. Once I forgot to turn off flash and was immediately informed of it. Don't use flash and enjoy the pictures.

I'm not a whiner, I'm just considerate of other people around me.

And as for your "nice disney memory", just know you created my disney nightmare of a strobe light ride. Thanks for allowing me to stand in line for 30 minutes to enjoy the spots in my eyes. :goodvibes

As for my picture post today.. its the Enchanted Tiki Room! Yay!

Why do you have to call people "whiners" if you don't agree with them? There have been some very valid points made regarding the use of flash on dark rides. Not a single one has been whining.

BTW, I enjoyed your picture and I hope you continue posting them. I also hope that you keep in mind the rules against using flash on dark rides next time you visit the parks. Please turn your flash off and take as many pics as you like without the flash. We all want to enjoy our ride and using a flash detracts from the experience.

Look forward to seeing your photos. :goodvibes

I think it's funny that it took so long for the flash debate to show up here. LOL

I remember reading about the great debate years ago. There are two rides in particular that draw the ire of other riders when the flash is used: POC and HM. Many say that using a flash in HM takes away from the "magic" used to animate the ride. In other words, HM is dark for a reason and a flash can ruin the ride for others who may not care to see who's pulling the strings behind the curtain.

I love taking photographs but I am very conscious of disturbing my fellow Disney fans when I take them. I know that when I ride HM on a sunny day, it takes my eyes a very long time to adjust to the darkness (I've sometimes walked into HM with panic because I couldn't see where I was walking.) Imagine a flash going off in the ride...it would take my eyes forever to adjust again...probably as long as the ride lasts.

Anyways, if anybody wants to continue this discussion (discussion not a fight) on a more appropriate thread (perhaps the photography one where we might discuss ways of taking photographs without the flash?) maybe we should move it. We can turn this debate into a positive! :)
