Disney Photopass

When we were at WDW before Christmas, we always saw Disney photographers taking pictures. Little did we know that they give you an I.D. tag and you can go home and view these pictures for 30 days on your computer. We found this out at Blizzard Beach on our last day there. If we would have known, we would have had our pics taken at MVMCP and the other parks. They are expensive ($12.95 fora 5 x 7) but they are free to look at and show other people when you get home. Am I the only person that did'nt know how that worked

Yeah, you pretty much have to either ask a photopass person, or I think they advertise it on one of the DW channels at the resorts. We used it again this year and got the CD sent to us. You can also get several cards if you forget it at the hotel, then merge them on the photopass website once you return. It is the best kept secret next to Disney Quest!

Right on the back of the photopass card, there is the website advertised. The first time I dealth with them, I was told about looking online when I got home....They freely told me that information. I actually really like photopass....it is expensive, but if you really want a picture and the one on your camera doesn't turn out, at least you have back-up.

On our trip in December, we used it alot, and I'm happy we did because when we got home and looked at our pictures, some of them didn't turn out at all, but I really liked the character or scenery of the photo (think Mickey, Expedition Everest, Tree of Life), so was really happy to have that as a back-up. I just ordered some photos a couple of days ago and am hoping to have them in the next week. I think of the expense as an investment....their nice photos, they are great memories, and we have something to hang on the mantle and reminisce about.

I ordered the photobook using the photos that were taken on the photopass card. In fact I ordered 2 books, one for us and one for my MIL. The shipping was approximately $30 for the two books (costing approx $70 each) which I could live with but what I did not know prior to ordering was the amount for the brokerage charges. When the books arrived, the brokerage charges were $72. So the total shipping and brokerage charges were more than half of the total order cost. I called UPS to complain and was informed that each book was sent in a separate package and therefore the brokerage charge was assessed for each package. The UPS customer service mentionned that their express post service waived the brokerage fees. Just wanted to let everyone know about these extra charges.

I loved having photpass for waterpark pictures! We didn't order any, but it was fun to view them at home! Sandra

You know there are ways to download the pictures onto your computer . Not picture quality to print out but to keep in your computer album. Just have to google it.

We bought the CD and the Book. I put together the book with the PhotoPass and pictures we took, downloading our photos to the site was painfully slow but if it turns out half as good as it looked on the website it will be worth it. It took the better part of a morning to do it but I had a bunch of time on my hands over the holidays.
The Cd came in the other day and some of the pictures we thought on the web looked bad were pretty good. I'm glad we did it that way instead of picking a few and ordering them from the small web shots. As ChrisJo says it's an investment for us so the price didn't bother me that much.
