I am doing some early planning for a WDW trip next year. Disney Memory Maker is something new since the last time I visited. I have always got the Disney Photopass Plus in the past and have been really happy with it. Can someone tell me the difference between the two. Also I would love everyones opinion on which one you prefer. Thanks in advance.

There is no more Photopass Plus. Memory Maker is the new version. Biggest difference seems to be everything is now digital downloads instead of the CD. You can order a CD, but it's not included. But everything else is the same. At least that's my understanding!

This is correct.

Additionally, you can download the photos as many times as you want, on multiple days, even during your vacation. You just have to make sure they are downloaded before they expire.

You can pre-purchase the photo cd only. It is only $30 less than the MM pre-purchase. With that you are getting all ride photos and meal photos. So, it is well worth it to me.

The old Photo pass didn't include Ride photos. Memory Maker does.

The one down side that is likely not a deal breaker for anyone is that Memory Maker doesn't seem to throw in some extra Character photos like Photopass use to do.

Anyone confirm that?

Yep, we had PhotoPass in February (it was pre-bought, they gave us the lanyard and all though) and we got all our ride and meal photos.
They don't offer PhotoPass anymore though. Just Memory Maker, we will continue to get it on future trips but I do think it's a bit of a downgrade since now the CD is not included. I like having the CD back-up of our pictures and why pay extra when it used to be included?

I didn't use or see the Plus last early last year. Must have been the transition plan between the two. I had the regular Photopass I guess with the CD.

Extra character photos?

Do wandering photographers still do pics with characters edited in?
I also remember they used to be marked on the map?
