Disney Photography vs Randy Chapman Question

I was just wondering why you chose Randy over a disney package. Was it cost, quality, both? I am trying to decide if I want to for an extra package above what is included in the Intimate package (we are planning on doing the MK photo shoot), disney's packages seem expensive.

I will tell you that I went with Randy for Quality and price reasons. At the end of it all was the fact that these are the pictures that I am going to have the rest of my life, and Disney could not guarantee a that you would have a certain photographer, nor could you see that photographers work.

I'll ditto what Jonette said. I wanted to make sure that both DH and I were comfortable with who was going to be photographing our wedding. Disney (at the time) wasn't willing to take steps to make that happen. For us that meant the only option was going to an outside vendor and that led us to Randy.

In addition, we felt we were getting a much better deal from Randy as far was what we were getting for the cost. We paid less for Randy than disney wanted for their 10 hour package and not only did we get Randy for 12 hours, we also got more prints and 2 parent albums included.

We did do the MK shoot a couple days after our wedding. Neither DH nor I were impressed with our photographer or the pictures we got from the shoot. For us, that doubly confirmed that we made the right move booking Randy for the wedding.

I agree with all the above posters. I hadly noticed he was there. I have been in many weddings where there were so many photos take I could scream. I loved his personality, professionalism & his work. Simply stated he was perfect for us.

For me quality was first. The cost difference was just a bonus. I love my pics, and I'm sooooooo glad I decided to go with Randy. I know I'd of never been as happy with what Disney offered. Not to mention it would have cost me a fortune to get the same amount I got from Randy.

Our Intimate wedding is in January, but we decided to go with Randy Chapman rather than with Disney.

Main reason: Disney only provides 20 prints. Anything over and above that costs $$. Not to mention that buying a CD with all the images from Disney costs an additional $1000. All the outside photographers I corresponded with included the master CD usually along with other pluses, like printed proofs.

Also, Randy offers three hours of coverage instead of Disney's 2hrs.

And as the above posters noted, you do not who you are going to get with Disney. I thought very long and hard before we decided on getting an outside photographer, but to get the master CD alone, I think it is worth the extra cost.

there are a number of reasons i choose randy chapman for my photographer, 1st being his talent & quality of photos, i love his style & i am very pleased with our wedding pictures, albums & engagement session. 2nd was his prices my whole package was affordable plus i got so much, all our photos, a cd with the pictures, my album, parents albums, etc. & much less than disney. the 3rd was i knew who i was getting for the money with disney you dont to get to pick your photographer you are assigned to someone.

i cant speak for disney photo as i didnt use them but disney did do a good job on my other wedding details but when it came to photographer & all the great photos i saw on the dis that he did, it was randy for us all the way.

For me it was quality of work, feedback from other sources, feeling comfortable, and quantity, and the last consideration was price. I absolutely adored Randy and am so glad I chose him and would choose him again in a heartbeat.

With Disney not being able to tell me the photographers name and show me samples of work swayed me far away really quickly although I enjoyed my MK photographer.

I am not sure what his newest price list is. You can contact Randy and Linda via email or by phone at the studio. They would be happy to send you a pricelist. Remember that you do pay for postage of your photos!

This EXACTLY the reason we are going with Randy as well...and I couldn't be any happier with that decision.

I was wondering that too! Sorry, I keep wondering the same things everyone else is wondering! Can you split up your 3 hours, or do they have to be in a row?

I don't know about splitting up the three hours, but I have booked him and asked how much he would charge to do my dessert party for the night before my wedding and he quoted me $250.00 for all the pics taken at the dessert party -- Disney now offers the same service but charges $295.00. HTH

You guys, I pretty much monopolized a whole day and a 1/2 of Randy and a day of Stan. Randy will work with you! We had Randy with the rehearsal dinner the night before. Then he showed up at 6:30 to start taking pictures and took pictures through 2pm and then came back later that night for Illuminations. I paid a price for the wedding, a price for the rehearsal, and then a price for Illuminations. The Rehearsal dinner and Illuminations were not as much as the wedding, but it all added up. He was worth EVERY PENNY! To the point where he and Linda have become part of the family. I can't speak enough of him and Stan.
