Disney Photo Pass - Not what it seems!

Our family had a wonderful visit to WDW in December. While there we purchased some of the photos that were offered to you as you left the attractions (high priced but great mementos for our children). After waiting over an hour in line for our daughter (age 4 wanting to be a princess herself). We were told that we didn't have to purchase the photo's there. We could just take the PhotoPass card home and view them online and purchase what we wanted from home and have them sent to us. Sounded great to us.
When we got home we went to the site and purchased several photos of our daughter with the princesses.
What I received in the mail (after paying over $120) was a regular Kodak photo envelope (just like if you went to the store and had your photos developed) with our pictures in them. NO cute little cardboard Disney Frame like you get when you are in the parks. My daughters were so disappointed!
I emailed them with my complaint asking for the cute frames or my money back. We'll see what happens. But, I would recommend purchasing them while you are at the park.
Hope this helps prevent otheres from being as dissapointed as our family was!

This question came up on another thread. Please let us know what they say!

Well thats not right. Were the prices the same as the park prices? That's a bummer because usually we don't buy the photos in the parks because we never remember to pick them up on the way out and sometimes those lines are CRAZY! So we were looking forward to using this option this trip. But I love the frames that you get at the park :sad1:

The 5 x 7's are cheaper using the online site than at the parks. They are $9.95 instead of $12.95, and this is labeled as an "introductory price" on the website.

I know when I looked at mine you could add a border to the picture. Mine was with characters and you could add an autograph to the picture and/or a border.

That's what I'm talking about! You could do this online?

::yes::

You can customize the pictures online by adding your choice of borders, icons, or year. I'm sure they have some other great things also.

Edited to add: Those flimsy cardboard frames wouldn't stop me from using Disney Photo Pass online. Skipping the lines at the end of a long day of park hopping sounds great. Before, you would have to stop by each parks photo center to have them printed out. With PhotoPass, you can save all of your picture information for the entire week and review it at the end of the vacation, or wait until you get home. You can even e-mail the picture to your friends for free (yes, you heard correctly - you don't have to buy them in order to share them). In the future, you will be able to buy DVDs and picture books with your own captions.

Well as long as you can add the character borders etc then it sounds good to me. I plan on buying some cute frames while I'm there anyway. If anyone has any more info on this I sure would appreciate it. We're leaving in 10 days.

You can share them for 60 days, then POOF! gone.

I just got some of my photos that I had on my PhotoPass card-I thought it was a good deal! I now have nice pictures of my entire family(usually one is missing as they are taking the pics) and I added different borders relevant to each park---I loved my pictures---it would be nice to have a frame but I hadn't even thought about it until now:scratchin ...but now someone  has mentioned it---I really want the frame  .
I can't help it, I'm like a little kid-don't think of it until someone else mentions it-then I REALLY want it bad :earboy2:

Our friends recently got back & ordered these, they came out really nice. Plus I don't use the cardboard thing they come in anyway, we tend to frame the pics nicely to keep them from getting dusty, etc..

Question...is PhotoPass for everyone, or only those who buy a package?
I saw it was included with the package on the Disney site, but nothing about room-only. I'd love to take advantage of it! Thanks!

You dont need to do anything extra. You just get your picture taken and they give you a card. This card can be reused at other photo locations. When you get home you type the # into the computer and your pictures come up. I ordered two and they are currently being shipped.

I received an email back from Disney PhotoPass regarding my complaint about not receiving any frames.
They replied:
Thank you for your recent visit to Disney's PhotoPass website. We have
received your email regarding the print orders you submitted. We
apologize for any inconvenience you've experienced, and appreciate the
opportunity to help.

A request was sent to Guest Services at Disney to send 11 - 5x7 paper
frames to your shipping address on record. Please allow 7 to 10 days
for delivery.

So, it appears that if you complain they will send them. I should be receiving them in the next few days.
Hope this helps someone else.

my complaint with PhotoPass is that all of our photos didn't end up on our card. :( We took family pics at the Osborne Lights between Christmas and New Years and those pics aren't on our photopass card. I emailed the date we were there, the approximate time and what we were wearing but was pretty much told no luck in finding them. We were having trouble getting a good one with my camera so we figured we'd do PhotoPass and buy one. No such luck though. :( At least if we were looking at them at the park we'd have had a better chance of trying to find them.

Only one complaint- While your there , you're able to look at the pics and if something isn't right(eyes closed, off center) you could always have another taken, but with photopass, if it's wrong when you're already home, not much you can do about it then
