Ok, I got to thinking today...
How many people have named their family pets after Disney characters?
I have a friend with a Bichon named "Tigger" because he hopped like Tig as a puppy! I have another friend with a dog name "Mickey".
The other day we had a stray cat and her kittens in our yard. Animal Control caught them and they are being cared for and will be adopted soon. We are sponsoring them to be sure they get loving homes and will not be euthanized.
The one kitten we name "figaro" after Minnie's cat and the cat in Pinochio.

Our dog doesn't know he has a disney name (goes by Balboa) but the first part of his registered name is "Captain Jack"

Two goats...hold back your laughter.

One named Minnie because she is part owned by dd and myself.

One named Tigger because he can jump a 4 foot fence to get to the feed bin. Then he climbings into the feed bin (a full size plastic garbage can) and all you see is his tail and back legs. It's so cute.

We didn't go with a Disney name when naming our last puppy, but certainly considered it.

We ended going up with a location name from where the breed originated--Quinn.

Our 1st Sheltie was Jasmine - we called her Jazz or Jazzie. We let our kids name our black cat - they came up with Marie. Our current sheltie ws named by our then 4 yr ds. I asked him what we should name a girl puppy. He thought for a long time and decided on Tinkerbell. It stuck when our then 18 mth dd could say Tinkerbell - it sounded so cute. Most of the time she is called Tink!

My husband said no Disney names.

My cats name is Lilly and I call her Lilly Belle Took him awhile to figure out I named her after Lillian Disney (Walt's hobby was trains and named his locomotive the Lilly Belle in honor of his wife). My husband is ok with it now since it is rather obscure, but a little mad I pulled one over him

My dog's name is Murphy after a local jewelry store. We saw a billboard on the way to get him and it stuck. My husband also said no disney names for him.

My hubby also said no Dis names, but he named our male Shihtzu Anakin Skywalker, so I slipped in the name Holly "Belle" for my female Shihtzu. I just call her Bell Bell now, it doesn't matter that Beauty and the Beast is my FAVORITE Disney movie, right?

We got a new puppy three weeks ago and named him Mickey! DD wanted Tigger but it didn't really fit so we compromised on Mickey.

We have a 4 year old Yorkie named Mickey Mouse

We've got two cats...a black cat named Boo, and Nala the calico. There are also three dogs in our family. Nemo (yorkie), Disney (yellow lab), and another yorkie named Spike we rescued last summer. After researching the Disney archives, I found that there actually was an obscure character named "Spike". Supposedly, he was a bumble-bee that used to bother Donald Duck in old cartoons. Who knew?

We had a pupply named Pixie (Pixie Dust), but had to take her back. She was really mean, would not let my dog eat or have treats. She started attacking him and drawing blood so back she went.

Last February (2007), we saw poison dart frogs at AK. I became obsessed with them and a few months after returning home, I bought 4! What fascinated me is the idea that they're exotic animals but pretty easy to take care of. They are sooooo cool to watch, they live in their own terrarium that is basically a rainforest (I never have to clean it out because it is its own little ecosystem). One of them I named Mickey because he has a "mickey head" on top of his head. They are so cute (and not REALLY poisonous in captivity).
