Disney Park Hopper Plus Card...Paper or Plastic?

I ordered the 7 day park hopper plus passes from paramount and was really looking forward to suprising my son . I had seen pictures of passes for sale on ebay and they looked really good. They had a nice DVD like case and what looked to be a plastic card.

However, when I recieved my PHP passes there was no "case" and they were paper. Am I missing something? Perhaps you have to turn your initial ticket in when you get there for the "real" thing.....I think that's what I have to do with my Universial year passes.

Can anyone enlighten me please?

Hi Sinclare!

What you have is a real, bona-fide, Disney Hopper Pass. From what I understand, only Disney itself sells the plastic, credit card type Hoppers. But they work the same, are worth the same, and your paper one is almost as hard to destroy as the plastic ones.

You are right - your signature picture (great photo, might I add? ) IS too big for DIS standards. You can get more information on our Tech Board. They can give you the particulars and maybe someone can even give you information on resizing the one you have.

Ah ok thanks. I was wanting to supprise him with a cool looking card but I guess a 7d php is enought of a suprise :g.

I'll see what I can do about the picture, it's the one I have stored in my seti@home profile. Perhaps I can upload a different one.

We purchased ours online and picked them up at Disney- they still weren't plastic! Exactly how you described the ones you got from paramount.

Disney just started selling hard plastic cards at the Disney Store a few months ago, up until then all tickets were paper (except if they were on ur room key, then they were plastic). But the paper ticket are very durrable and is the same size as the paper tickets (after all, they still have to fit in the tunstyles at the park )

That's interesting.... anyone know if you took your new and unused 7d php paper passes to the disney store that they would let you exchange them for the plastic kind? I'd really love to give my son one that's in one of those dvd type cases I've seen.

Not only will TDS not allow you to do this, you can't even do it at WDW.
