Disney Package Deposit Refund - Gift Card

Hi, I used a Disney gift card to put a deposit on a direct online Disneyland package. I'm thinking of tweaking my dates slightly and I understand the way they work is you need to cancel and re-book. If I do that, do you think they'll be able to refund the deposit to the gift card I used? Has anyone had experience with this?

Every time I've cancelled anything booked at any Disney Resort or Disney Cruiseline using a gift card, the refund has gone onto the gift card. It's why they tell you to hold onto the gift card.
