Disney (or any other) Screen Saver: so easy!
Im sure 99% of you know all about this, but despite my 20+ years playing with computers, I just learned how to make your own screen saver with Microsoft XP.
It started after I found the DIS and began really enjoying the WDW pictures from people like Dan Murphy and Webmaster Pete. I figured out that a simple right mouse-click over any graphic brings up a choice called Set as Background. With that one click I could capture that image and make it my desktop background so I could enjoy it over and over again. Every few days I would find another picture I liked and changed the background.
Soon I realized that I should save these favorites for future use and used another right-click option Save Picture As to place the photo in a file I created called Disney.
Then last week I somehow stumbled upon the way to create your own screen saver:
Right click on a blank area of your desktop and select Properties
Select the tab for Screen Saver
Select My Pictures Slideshow from the drop box list of screensaver choices .
For Settings use Browse to find the file where you store your favorite pictures (mine was Disney.
Set the timing you want and change other options if you wish, then enjoy!
I cant believe I didnt figure this out a long time ago. Duh!
If any of you are interested, here are links to two of my favorite pics. The first, castle1 is courtesy of Dan Murphy and is my very favorite. The second, spaceship-earth was found on www.wdwfun.com Several of my latest additions came from *********************
Im going to start a thread in The Lodge Library with links to favorite pictures and ask that you add to it when you find a good one to share. Seems like us Disney freaks can never get too much of a good thing.
