Actually I saw a little blurb on the front of the paper this morning that Disney Feature Animantion is no longer going to produce any hand drawn feature films....Anyone else hear about this?

I for one think it is a real shame. I loved the hand drawn stuff...Just another thing that is causing the downfall of the beloved company. Be still in your grave Walt....

Here is a link from my local paper..

Disney to stop producing hand drawn films

Here is another link to Disneys finest handdrawn films..

Just bumping with the new info I added..

Yes, sadly, the rumors are true, hence them closing their animation studio in Florida. When Tanya went up to WDW & took the tour she said that all they have there now is just chairs, some flowers, and a couple misc. things like coffee cups & all.

Like I said in an earlier post, Wait a few years. When we get a new CEO & drop Eisner, it'll come back.

We can only hope that hand-drawn feature-length animation is resurrected someday.

I do agree with one point in the article - Pixar has been wildly successful because they have the best story development department, NOT because they use computer animation.

Disney's greatness in feature length animation, I believe, was due to great stories paired with amazing animation. While the animation area is closing it's doors now, the great stories have been gone for quite some time. :(
