Here now, and I agree completely with this comment and with TP's decrease on the Crowd Calendar. I was prepared for a hurricane of people for the 50th, but it's been MUCH slower than I anticipated.

Did MK last Wednesday and HS on Thursday. Listed wait times have been low, and actual wait times are even less. Haunted Mansion was listed at 45 minutes about about 5pm, but was actually a walk-on. ROTR was about 110-120 for most of the day, but down to 50 minutes at about 6pm, and only took about 35 minutes. Both much less than I had anticipated.

Before we left for our trip, I was upset that Disney couldn't get G+ together for the 50th, but unless things change soon (i.e. in the next week), I am not missing any kind of ride-skipping at all right now.

Good for me, but probably bad for Disney...

I am hoping that TP's Crowd Calendar estimates are good for my early December trip as well, mostly 3s and 4s, which is really surprising to me. I also notice more availability for resorts during my timeframe, albeit mostly more expensive rooms.

Definitely won't need G+ if those estimates stay good.

If you purchase Genie+ BEFORE day of you must purchase it for length of stay, if you buy Genie+ day of you can buy each day, that day (12:00 AM purchase window start), individually.

You mean Genie-Pig :rotfl:. I would definitely avoid Magic Kingdom that day or plan to purchase it as all the bloggers will be testing it out.

So I have been out of the loop for the last week; if you purchase Genie+ on the first day of your trip, you have to purchase it for the entire stay?

No. If you purchase it beforehand it is for the length of your ticket. If you wait until your first park day, you can purchase it one day at a time. This is the same as it was for MaxPass. Basically, you can buy the enhancement to your ticket ahead of time, but it can only be fore the entire length.

If I'm staying for 10 days, but I've only bought park tickets for 5 days, then a pre-purchase Genie+ would be just for 5 days, right? (not 10 - length of stay)

Correct. It would apply to the length of your ticket. Think of buying it ahead of time like an enhancement similar to Park Hopper. It will add Genie+ to all days of the ticket if you buy it before your first day. On the first day, you will have the ability to buy Genie+ on a daily basis, good only for that day. I think with MaxPass you had to actually scan into the gates before you could do that. It's nice though becuase then you can only use it on certain days as you need it.

If anyone entering is having trouble with the "enter" button not working, try incognito mode :). That's been working for me.

Thanks for clearing this up. The whole Genie+ thing has been confusing to me :)

Thank you, no way I'm buying it ahead of time then, my trip is for ten days and I know that I don't need it for AK or EPCOT. Going to play it by ear to see how things go when I'm down there, but honestly the fact that I can only ride a ride once a day with the Genie+, then I have to wait in line, is a problem for me. I should be able to choose how many times I want to ride a specific ride.

If you have an AP, is there any discount on G+?

Thanks, I keep forgetting to enter this. People do actually win these things, a friend of mine won a trip to Universal a few years back!

At the start of the service, no, there will not be an AP discount on G+.

This will probably change in the future with either some package offering or if you want hopes and dreams, them including it as part of being an AP (though they’d probably limit to the highest tier).
