Didn't out-of-State AP holders always have to buy the Platinum Pass- at the top tier (except Platinum Plus)? Gold, Silver, etc. have always been DVC and/or Florida resident I thought?

Yes we have always had to buy Platinum. Only out of state APs who haven’t are DVC members who could get Gold.

They had better offer some substantial resort discounts because $1300 and taking away PhotoPass is daylight robbery and will be a wrap for me next year.

(Watches the DISboards explode!)

Kind of a way to increase the price more without making it look like it. I'll get it for just one member of our family.
So smart!!! Thank you!

I'm a bit bummed with the pass options. I can only get the most expensive one? If I can't make the pass work for us price wise, that limits me to visiting WDW only once per year. But if I could get one of the cheaper passes, I'd be inclined to go back 2-3 times per year. And I always stay so WDW would be getting less of my money. Also, I might be able to justify one pass for me, but no way will I be able to convince my husband that we both need the top tier one. But, I'm glad they're back for everyone else!
We always could only get Plat or Plat Plus (w'/ sports & water parks). Now they let DVC members get one that was FL only I think - so that's kinda nice for them. But I hate black out dates, I always have to travel on the holidays as I have High Schooler.

I expected in the $1200 range, so not a big surprise. With my WDW planned schedule, I think I'll stick with my 6 day tickets for Oct 1, and get an AP this fall (to make my park reservations) for my trips starting next July. It's not worth converting the 6 day pass to an AP for Oct 22 and then get a 2nd AP after that when my trips are Oct 2021, then July 2022 - June 2023 - unless I really intend to go to Disney between Oct 21 - July 22, but I'm not. Unless the renewal discount is just crazy.

The blackout dates are interesting. We have always had DVC Gold and were blocked out in March or April for 2 weeks for Spring break. Now its Thanksgiving weekend the Christmas block. Spring break times are wide open.

I also find it odd that Disneyland is the park with the "AP problem". People have always complained that there are too many of us. But, only the lowest tier for us is ONLY available for locals. So it seems odd that WDW would make only the top tier available for non-Florida residents. But, I don't have access to all of their numbers so I'm sure they have their reasons.

The renewal rates are posted: $764 Sorcerer, $594 Pirate, $339 Pixie Dust, $1104 Incredi-pass

DVC members have been able to get the Gold pass previously....now it just has a different name.

When they say includes parking, would that cover resort parking if you’re staying on property or is that only park parking?

Never knew that! I’m out of state and don’t go often enough to justify an AP.

OK, it’s buried in the fine print, but it looks like they are adding the ability to modify park reservations:

  • Access a New Integrated Calendar: Planning will be easier with enhancements to our reservation system, including a new integrated calendar that lets Passholders quickly see blockout dates for each pass type, view available days and make, modify or cancel a reservation all in one place.
Hooray if that’s the case!

Hopefully, they'll add that across the board for all tickets. It's not a huge deal right now anymore, but in busy times, like it was a couple of months ago with little availability, it was a risk to cancel and lose what you've got without a replacement. I ran into that in June.

So we have 7 day tickets for our Dec trip. I can go to guest services at MK on our arrival day and upgrade to a Sorcerer Pass, right (we are DVC)? And I will be charged the difference between what we paid for those 7 day tax (which will be unused at that time) and what a Sorcerer pass costs? And it won't mess up any park pass reservations we had made?

Why don’t you call MS, possible you could upgrade to sorcerer pass before trip🤷‍♀️. Never hurts to ask.
(I would avoid calling 9/8, might be busy 😜)

Yay! Another piece of the puzzle. Now I just have to get confirmation that DH is going to the conference in April and then I can justify an AP and go twice....I told him he had until Sept. 8 to know for sure!

My wife and I have alternated AP's often, but never had them at the same time. Depends on if she is going on a girls trip or if I am going on a golf trip who gets one. We then get all the discounts using the one we have current. Works out well to only have one.
