The Harmonious pic looks great, but something is out of perspective. Using the Pagota in Japan as a reference, those barges seem incredibly small compared to the real daytime pics we have been seeing for months.

Everytime I've seen the barges, I would get sad because they look like such a monstrosity. Reading this article a little while back made me feel a bit better and put them in perspective:

I noticed this too. I have a feeling cavalcades might be sticking around for awhile.

Mice Chat posted that Disneyland is bringing back Magic Happens (rumor but Mice Chat is usually right when it comes to Disneyland) as soon as they can for summer so I don't think parades are entirely a thing of the past at the parks... but maybe one just isn't returning to MK just yet? Or they'll wait to announce it? Magic Happens did only get to run for two weeks before COVID shut the whole thing down so I'm sure that's also part of the motivation to get that back up ASAP.

Man, I so wanted to get out to DL to see Magic Happens! I can't wait for it to come back!

I think the barges are just farther from the Japan side of the lagoon. They look huge over by the UK side.

Was HEA poorly received? We haven't even seen it yet because the schedules of past trips didn't allow for it. Wishes ran for over a decade and I was assuming HEA would get an equally long run. HEA was only shown for about 3 years due to the pandemic. I feel bad if it doesn't come back after the 50th. So glad we will be there in August to see it! I love the song and finally just downloaded it from Amazon....so sad though!

What's funny is the color scheme of that parade is almost identical to "EARdescent" color scheme they have for the 50th. Maybe they'll bring it over to WDW at some point? I think they're trying to pull out all the stops at Disneyland right now to draw people there so could be why we're seeing some stuff might return there sooner. (Fantasmic! rumored this summer as well, etc.)

Most people seemed to love it. I preferred Wishes, some of the musical choices in HEA really annoyed me.

Judging by the crowds at every viewing, no, it was not poorly received. I thought it was amazing.

It is very possible that the new show is for the 50th, and like Disneyland Forever, will run for a year or so, and when they go back to "normal" they change the show. It may go back to HEA, or it may not.

And they could bring it back out every so often. They did that with Disneyland Forever and we were lucky enough to see it and man, absolute favorite show ever- so emotional. So I imagine that would have the same effect.

Either way, all exciting news! I was surprised not to see anything specific for HS? Maybe they're just trying to get regular shows up and going there. I'm planning for Christmas 2022 for our next WDW trip and by then it'll be gravy with full 'normalcy'... right... right?!

I didn't like wishes and often skipped it. HEA is amazing. I cry every time. And yes, part of that is because the soundtrack is 1000 times better than the wishes soundtrack.

Right, they have rotated DLF and Mickey's Mix Magic. The nice thing about the projection shows is that the program is easy to change. I know they have to load the fireworks, but I imagine that's not too difficult. At DL they can also run in "no pyro" mode since fireworks there are cancelled often due to the wind.

Well poop. I was hoping our days of cramming onto main Street to watch fireworks were over and we could just enjoy watching from our room or the lounge at BLT. I suppose we will have to endure at least one viewing from the park with kids on shoulders, iPads and cameras held up in my face, useless flash photos going off in my eyes and kids stupid flashy toys.

Ahhhh to be old and grumpy!

I love it enough to have planned a trip just to see it one more time. Wishes was good, HEA is amazing. Just bring back the dessert buffets and I’m set.

I love HEA! I loved Wishes, too, and was so sad to see it end, but then I saw HEA. I cry every time I see it.

Wait, I just realized they announced a new Mickey cavalcade starting Oct 1st. Does that mean no parades? Are parades permanently a thing of the past? There's really no reason they can't have parades...except money I guess.

Think about it, they have been slowly eliminating parades over the last decade or so even pre pandemic. They killed parades at EPCOT, DHS, AK, and the night time parade at MK. All that was left was the 3PM FoF at MK. I wouldn't be surprised if they like how the cavalcades worked and will pivot to those going forward.

Personally, I love the cavalcades. I don’t have to disrupt my day to stake out a spot, characters just magically appear.
