This! If they keep increasing park capacity, all these people are going to need some place to eat. I'm hoping more is opening soon and Disney just hasn't announced it yet.
They definitely need more places to eat. It looks like they are training a lot of new staff. They are doing their best but the places that are open are getting hammered.

@tgree9369 What vibes are you getting today?! Any restaurant or FP news?! 🤔
My underwhelming delivery of good news from yesterday was merely a pre-SUPER VIBE blast that will be delivered today! Bring on the opening of restaurants, Typhoon Lagoon news and dare I say it... YES, FP+ NEWS! (You may all begin your morning dancing routine, please remember to stretch first!)

I’m picking up what you’re dropping… if Michael couldn’t help us… we’re going to need to throw this baby into Hyperdrive.

The ice cream shop in France was closed all day today. We stopped by at noon, 12:30 and 7pm. Cast member in the perfume shop across from it said it is owned by another company and he believes they are having trouble finding people to work. It was very disappointing after hearing so much about the great treats there and seeing the pictures! We had our order all figured out. So sad.

We heard something similar when we were at the MK a couple of weeks ago. They told us that The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor was run by Edy's Ice Cream and they went under during the pandemic. I don't think this is accurate though because the internet still shows Edy's up and running.

They also need to expand the menus back to pre-Covid. They are all limited right now. Every restaurant we ate at on our trip had basically a beef, chicken, seafood and vegetarian entrée. Only about two - three appetizers with one of those being "plant based".

I am starting to think that at this point everything is being driven by staffing. Chapek stated that they had an 80% return rate. So they need to do new hiring for the other 20% AND they are in the process of bringing back the CP Cast Members that I am sure take alot of these slots. All the new hires and CP Cast Members need to be trained before they can start and I am sure Disney can only train so many at a time. There is really no other reason that everything is not open other than hiring and training.

This. The Contempo menu was very limited!

My biggest example of this is Flame Tree BBQ. They used to house my FAVORITE pulled pork cheese fries. They currently have pork, cheese sauce, fries, BBQ sauce... why can't they have the actual pulled pork cheese fries? lol I don't get it.

I just read on another thread that there were 700 college program members that returned this week with more coming each week. I hope this helps with the staffing issues Disney is having.

ETA - This is the thread in case you’re interested in following along.

i agree. One of theme parks in our area (dorney park) will only be open 5 days a week due to staffing issues.
