We didn't do the family dining but it's where we typically ate for lunch. It's what my picky kids liked. I'm slightly surprised it hasn't opened since they obviously aren't using it for the mask free zone anymore.

I really think the main reason restaurants aren't open is due to staffing issues. I heard on a Disney podcast that WDW is offering $1000 sign-on bonuses (paid after 3 months of employment) for the positions of restaurant kitchen and house keeping. Seems like Disney is being impacted by the nationwide movement of people not returning to food services and hospitality positions.

I wonder if they are just releasing a certain number of tickets at a time so those people who are traveling from other states and making reservations throughout the year have an opportunity to purchase them. Its really not a good feeling for people who pay to travel to WDW to book a trip only to find out that all the tickets to an event like Boo Bash sold out months ago.

That should say "Half Marathons". Unless I missed something and they added 2.

I think the title was using the general sense of the word marathon. In the article:

“RunDisney is back! Disney has just released details for 3 Disney World Races coming in 2022!”

Marathon is not a general word though, it is a very specific distance. "Race weekends" or "Races", like the article states would be more appropriate. Saying there are 3 marathons isn't just semantics, it is very wrong.

I can understand why it bothered some.

For outsiders not heavily invested in the sport, half marathon still seems like a type of marathon to fit under that word. Race doesn’t quite do it justice.

I agree. I've done 3 marathons and multiple halves - they are much different races. I was a little upset at my last few half marathons when people said they completed "a marathon" at the end. A marathon is a different beast (miles 18-22 - ugh- such a mental game). And I earned that title of "marathoner" after 26.2!

I agree. I've done 3 marathons and multiple halves - they are much different races. I was a little upset at my last few half marathons when people said they completed "a marathon" at the end. A marathon is a different beast (miles 18-22 - ugh- such a mental game). And I earned that title of "marathoner" after 26.2!

I've never done either, but I would imagine that half -> full marathon would be quite a step up in difficulty. That's a lot of endurance to get through that!

So happy to see Casey’s back for the fireworks! Would’ve felt weird without it open. Casey’s is part of the energy around the hub.

We were happily surprised after we tried it March ‘19. $60 for 3 of us and it came with salad, apps, pizza, pasta and dessert. Felt like such a bargain for a sit down in WDW and the food was all very fresh and yummy. Love it to return!

We were extremely disappointed when we tried it in Feb '19. The pasta was dry, and the pizza was so undercooked the dough was practically raw. I wish we would have spoken to a manger before leaving, but at least I was sent a survey on my experience.
