Rope drop update: all parks except AK have returned to traditional rope drop. Although at HS seems like RR is the only ride that still lets people ride early.

Lack of dining is only really noticeable at MK now- seems like more food cart stands are open than when we were here last.... except at MK.

Definitely felt that way when I was there in March too! Hopefully we finally at least get Casey’s to open this week!!

When I was there last March someone "allegedly" committed suicide by jumping from the Contemporary, which resulted in the shutting down of the monorail.
We took the boat from WL since we just finished Hoopdy Doo (which was awesome!) and it was the pilot of the boat who was telling passengers about it since he needed to tell everyone to not to try and take the monorail...he was definitely shaken up about it...so I also trust boat captains!

Sadly that incident was very real, people witnessed it from the monorail and actual news outlets confirmed it.

The Contemporary has unfortunately been the site of many suicides and attempts. And yes, last March was one of them.

It was so tragic. I still wonder about the people who saw it happen.

What a view!! I wonder if it was Harmonious again or Epcot Forever??

It was so amazing when we got the Harmonious testing, at YC EVERYBODY was out on their balconies in PJs lol

"Aloha! We are delighted you have chosen to stay with us at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows.

In an effort to continually enhance the Guest experience here at the Walt Disney World® Resort, we often refresh our offerings and atmosphere. In preparation for your upcoming stay, we would like to make you aware of renovations that will be taking place during your visit. As part of these renovations, monorail service will remain temporarily suspended. During this time, direct bus transportation will be provided to all four Theme Parks and watercraft transportation will be available to Magic Kingdom® Park. If you prefer to walk, the pathway to access the monorail and ferryboats at the Transportation and Ticket Center will also remain open."

Our stay begins August 22nd.

It doesn’t even look close to done. The poly construction looked absolutely awful. We went there for breakfast Friday and l told my husband we booked the Contemporary instead of poly. Though there was construction at the Contemporary it was barely noticeable compared to the poly.

I get the feeling Disney is holding back right now. If there’s any big news to drop maybe they’re waiting for the media spotlight when fireworks start. 4th of July fireworks will be big news, an optimistic spin on how far the US has come with Disney finally able to hold fireworks again. A great time to let potential visitors know the things they miss and love are coming back. They could be timing when the big news would have the most exposure and greatest impact.

That’s my hope at least
