Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2025 Edition

Saw the Zootopia 2 preview last night. Now this is what a sequel should be! I was meh on Moana 2, but this time the story is great and the movie is very funny while still having heart. It's probably recency bias but I might even like it a tad more than the original.
Agreed. Sequels usually fall flat for me, but this one was pretty good. It was sprinkled with some nice easter eggs, laughs, and twists. I feel like Disney got their story-telling back--especially how they started preparing the viewer for a future installment throughout the movie, and then sealed it with the final post-credits scene.

D23 previously discontinued the print version of the magazine and then transitioned to digital-only. In 2026, D23 will be discontinuing the digital version as well.

D23 Magazine Ending in 2026

ETA: Price changes as well...

Gold Essential Membership: $119.99/year (previously $99.99)

Gold Choice Membership: $329.99/year (previously $299.99)

Not sure what benefit being a member is any more.

If you don't go to any of the events, then you're just buying the yearly gift with your membership. The discounts you can get easily with pretty much any other Disney affiliation.
Yeah, and it's hard to attend events with how limited their cities are. I would have loved to go to the Home Alone event, but nothing was close (and the prices for events are outrageous, too).

I go to the fan club conventions so I'll keep my membership. I also have enjoyed some of the Gold Theater virtual presentations. But if on a given year I think the member "gift" would be pretty useless to me, I would think twice about renewing since access to the events isn't guaranteed, so the member gift is the main thing one is paying for...
