Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2024 Edition

Was this even hinted? These prices seem high, especially because no park hoping. We only have 2 and a half park days if I could hop I would consider it for one day but with out hoping….
Yes, there were rumors this summer in August and September. People were preparing for costs similar to Universal's skip-the-line service, but Disney likes to standalone, I guess! Yikes on those prices and lack of park hopping. It seems to really be offering an alternative to the VIP tour crowd or those who have considered tours in the past. Here's a previous article:

RUMOR: Walt Disney World to Debut Universal Express-Style Skip-the-Line Offering

ETA: For comparison, Universal's service is about $90-$290 per person, per park, but it is included with certain hotels. Disney's new service for WDW is $130-$450 per person, per park, and only available to purchase for those staying in certain hotels.

I totally missed this! I’m not sure how I feel about it, we have considered a tour before, but can never get past the full cost.

I don't believe it was reported on this specific thread, so you didn't miss it here! People would only know if they saw it elsewhere.

I love the idea of it as a splurge, but man....

I love a splurge but it seems a bit high to me, but I’m sure people will buy it. Maybe if it was just my family of 4, but there are 7 of us this trip with my dad, sister and her husband, the VIP isn’t that much more considering park hoping if you have 10 people!

I am sure there will people that will pay for it, but I find it ridiculous. Disney won't need a ton to buy it to find worth keeping it as an option. If you still have to select your time then the value goes down even more.

The normal skip the line services are already a splurge for me, so no thanks! I'd rather do the special ticket events.

But I don't mind this existing, it'll work for some people. The fewer the better imo, lol, so they don't clog up the lines

You don't select your time. Only restriction is that you get one chance to ride on each, no repeats. Supply is going to be extremely limited but the way they priced it will keep a lot of people away anyway.

Then for some it will be really worth it , since it will reduced the amount of time needed in the park.

It will really be worth it for someone who this is their one and only time to visit DisneyWorld and they want to see as much as possible. $150 isn't much when talking about a $5000-$10000 trip.

Well it is more than $150...MK starts at $329 per person, but yes for those that can afford it planning on only going every once it will be worth it.

Having used express pass at Universal I think the pass itself is a great idea, HOWEVER... I would prefer them implement it in a way that incentivizes staying at Deluxe more. IF this service is exclusive to Deluxe in the long run that may clarify things, but if it isn't I think the option should be discounted at minimum for Deluxe guest.

I think I will avoid it for now, as this is probably something that would make future trips feel worse without the service. Walking on every ride at Universal was so nice.

I think only being available to Deluxe guests as a premium add on is the key ….

It reminds me of back in the fastpass plus days were club level guests could add on 50ish per person per day for a three day minimum for the option of pre booking six FP+ vs three

So are you guaranteed a ll for every ride that offers one?

Yes. You get 27 rides you can just walk on at Magic Kingdom. 25 that use fast pass, a 2 ILLs.

There is no chance you can ride all these in 1 day without lightning lanes. With this, you can. You'd have to spend another $100+ for a ticket to go 2 days to be able to ride more. And another night of a hotel room ($500+). And another vacation day used.

The cost is far less if this is a one-time vacation, you want to ride everything, and you take into account the extra day.
