Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2024 Edition

I have no affinity for the Muppets but I think redoing the barren Animation Courtyard is the right way to go over replacing Muppets.

However, with the way Disney and Universal are going with more themed lands, I would not be surprised if they announced (somewhere near completion of Monsters Inc Land), that the Muppets and some of that surrounding area being turned into a land by a more popular IP.

Why? They don’t have to tell us anything if they don’t want to
You have a point. We're nobody's. We're only the CUSTOMERS who pay for everything. So we should just shut up, fork over our money, and not complain about poor treatment.

Ask Sears & Roebuck how that worked out for them. Or Kodak, Radio Shack, or Toys R Us.

I wouldn't say definitely. This is just speculation.

Both pieces of concept art show the land in two different locations. I do wonder if Disney didn't reveal where it would go during the presentation because either they don't know or that they know we won't like the answer.
It really just makes more sense to put it in Animation courtyard. Area is currently wasted and it has plenty of room for expansion toward the back. Trying to shoehorn it into between Star Tours and Galaxy's Edge is a terrible idea.

leave my Muppets alone!

They don't care. Most people.who visit Disney are not people like us. The majority of people who visit are just happy to be at Disney.

Even the majority of people here will get over it by the next D23.

Anyone care to guess when all these new lands will open in Orlando

I know they said within the next 5 years but if there doing the cars phase first and then villans and there next even starting cars until next year, no way is villains opening within 5 year

I simply don't agree. The company cannot continue to disrespect its most loyal customer base. The very real danger is a weakened stock price that invites a buyout and breakup of the company. It has happened twice in the not-too-distant past.

Look at what's happening at this very moment to two of the most venerable movie studios in the world, Warner Bros and Paramount. They are mere husks of what they used to be.

If not for the parks, both NBCUniversal and Disney would be the very same shape.

You don't have to agree. You can always send them an email and let them know how you feel.

I don't see their announcement on a different date as shady or dishonest. I see it as they have a show to put on and this didn't fit the itinerary. I'm sure most people didn't even think twice about when it was announced.

Is there any space there? It's just an alley between the TSMM and MMRR buildings.
I'm not sure that TSMM takes up the whole building there. There may be room in the building at south end of Pixar Place for an attraction.

No, no, no - it should be a coaster themed to getting to Yzma's Secret Lab - "Pull the lever, Kronk!"
Yes, I’ve advocated for that idea numerous times on here. Was just saying the feathered serpent from Aztec Culture still technically fits the theming idea of Tropical Americas
No it totally fits, it's just not as cool! Am I saying that The Emporer's New Groove is better than Indiana Jones? Maybe....
They wasted an opportunity to add new animal enclosures to Tropical Americas.
I mean, GMR did need some work and updates, but it was still reasonable popular. At least what we got was pretty cool. But, yeah, they could have built MMRR in Animation Courtyard and given us the El Capitoon like they have at DL!
The problem was that GMR was starting to get outdated, in terms of the narrative.

If you look at the map there is space behind those buildings butting up to Galaxy's edge
There's a backstage road and the berm, not enough room for a ride building.

The park map makes that area look huge, but look at Google maps. Not much space at all.

They could always move things around, I mean they are filling in a river in MK. I do think they will want this close to Toy Story land though being as they are both pixar. So if it isn't there my best guess is animation courtyard because it's on the otherside of Toy Story.
