Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2023 Edition

NEW: Eligible DVC members can register for the Guardians of the Galaxy "Screen & Scream" May 4 event that will include a private movie screening of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and an after-hours party in World Discovery at EPCOT.

Event booking starts April 19 at 11 a.m. ET.
I'm finally actually in town to get to take advantage of a DVC special event! I wonder how quickly these fill up?

Given that it's kind of short notice, I would think you'd have a good chance. Especially the Fandango voucher option (the other will probably sell out first). But be ready when registration opens!

It's also $89/person, so I don't see it filling up too quickly. The after hours event is in the World Discovery section of Epcot...so Guardians, Mission Space, and Test Track? Of those, my family would just do Test Track...Mission Space is too claustrophobic for me and DD23, and DH and I did Guardians once and found it a little too exciting for us, lol. (And the kids would hate it, they're not into thrill rides.)

That's a good point. We are taking this trip without the kids so it wouldn't be as pricey for us as usual. No Mission Space for me, but I love Guardians (when I am chewing ginger gum to keep from getting motion sick!). My husband went to a cast members after hours party very similar to this last year with my daughter who was in the Disney College Program at the time. I think they spent more time on snacks and photo ops than anything else. lol

It would be super helpful if they gave more info on what rides are going to be open and what the snacks are. 3 rides and popcorn? Not super cool. 6 or 7 rides plus Mickey bars and Mickey shaped pretzels? No brainer for us!

The Villas at Disneyland Hotel Will Include DVC Resale Restrictions
New documents released by Disney Vacation Club (DVC) have confirmed that The Villas at Disneyland Hotel will have resale restrictions.

These details were recently found in an updated Disney Vacation Club Multi-Site Public Offering Statement (POS) and shared on DISboards.

While DVC properties allow for the resale of ownership interests on the secondary market, The Villas at Disneyland Hotel will have some restrictions. These are a continuation of the restrictions that were initially implemented when Disney’s Riviera Resort went on sale in 2019. According to DVC, these restrictions are intended to preserve the value of the property and the DVC brand.

DVC Resale Restrictions Overview

For those unfamiliar with DVC resale Restrictions, here is a general overview:

  • Resale owners who purchase a contract at one of the original 14 Disney Vacation Club properties can only use and exchange their points at these 14 resorts. This excludes Riviera and Disneyland Hotel.
  • Resale owners who purchase a contract at Disney’s Riviera Resort can only use their points at this resort.
  • Resale owners who purchase a contract at The Villas at Disneyland Hotel can only use their points at this resort.
It’s important to note that these resale restrictions will only apply to ownership interests purchased on the secondary market after January 19th, 2019. Owners who purchased before that time will not be affected by these restrictions.

The next day on Touring Plans that’s projected to be higher than a 6/10 for all parks is May 27. Everything between now and then is 5 or 6/10
I still have mostly 7s and 8s last week of June...hopefully that's adjusted...its the first week of summer vacation for the NE so we shall see

Ah so that answers a question I had. Thought maybe they’d let RIV and VDL resale trade into each other along with any new resorts like Poly2.

I think I am going to get an AP on Thursday for the first time since .... the early 80's (I am old, lol). And this reminder post makes me think of a question. I will still need a reservation for park visits before 2pm (and after 2pm on Saturdya and Sunday at MK). But can I make multiple reservations at different parks for the same day? For example, I want to start at Epcot, but wanted to go to HS before 2pm, could I make a reservation at both and use my AP to enter either before 2pm? Or if I want to start at AK and got to MK on a Saturday afternoon? I would need the MK reservation, so could I reserve both? Just curious

You can't have more than one park reservation per day, regardless of what kind of ticket/pass you have.

You also can't hop before 2pm regardless of reservations right now. You can book a reservation for a park, go to that park, then hop to any other park after 2pm OR don't book a reservation and enter any park of your choice after 2pm (except MK on the weekends).
