Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2023 Edition

I wouldn’t be shocked if they make TL spring/summer and BB fall/winter for operations

That said I was kind of hoping to bus to BB to do winter Summerland in April guess I’ll have to bus to DHS and walk to Fantasia instead

I would think the plan is to eventually go back to the normal schedule. A closed park brings in no money and there is still expenses to keeping it closed.

This is better than the offerings at F&G

Long before Covid, Blizzard Beach always closed for refurbishment and when it opened sometime in late Feb/early March, that’s when Typhoon Lagoon would go down for refurbishment. When we went during our Spring break, we would miss TL which was our favorite. Then after TL was done, both water parks were open for the summer. I’m guessing that will be the same this year.

It use to be nov/Dec one water park and Jan Feb the other both were typically by mid march rheofuh October . That was the general schedule for probably the last 5 years at least prior to Covid. Every once in awhile the refurb was long if something bigger needed.

So, in other words, 1 park, then the other park and then they both open for the summer. Just wanted those that were freaking out to know that was the process. Sorry if the actual dates didn’t meet the last 5 years. It’s been a long time since our kids were teens.

anyone been able to purchase may tickets for after hours? I keep getting an error at final checkout:
"We're having trouble processing your request. Please try to confirm your party again."

Let’s not call this a “staffing” issue. It’s a money issue. A budget issue. That’s the root here. Pay more and you’ll get staffing. When we say it’s a staffing issue, we just feed into their word play trick that they planted out there because of Covid. “Let’s not say it’s a budget issue, we don’t want that out there, it makes us look bad. Let’s call it ummmm a staffing issue.” And then we propagate it.
It’s budget. Not staffing.

I wonder if they just don't have enough demand to justify keeping 2 parks going.
