Disney News, Discussion & an Element of Fun - 2023 Edition

The first one being 3 story tellers is the one thing that makes it seem like it could be Hercules, with how the muses keep the story going along. But who knows (other than Disney!)

All I take away from it is that they are working towards casting a new show for a theatre that has been shuttered for a while now!

There was a production at the Delacorte here in Central Park with James Monroe Inglehart as Phil, and I think they are polishing it for Broadway eventually. I know they are playing it for a short run in NJ with a revised book this month. Maybe that's where the rumors are coming from for CA?

RUMOR: Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe May Be Rethemed at Magic Kingdom

While visiting Magic Kingdom recently, we noticed some high-profile Disney World Imagineers walking through Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe, discussing various aspects of the quick-service location. The Imagineers spent at least 30 minutes touring the location, walking through each room, and taking notes.

I would only be okay with a retheme if the food quality increased above the garbage level it is now lol

I mean if they're going to retheme it to something more blending between Pirates and Tiana's then that's fine by me.

Maybe... I don't know. Maybe it's just a refurb. That's the issue with Tiana in MK - it doesn't fit Frontierland. It totally fits New Orleans Square at DL. I wish they would do something different with each of them. They're different anyway.

I agree 100%. I wish they had picked Pocahontas instead for MK but they didn't ask for my opinion.

I told one of the Imagineers that were out in September in that area to bring back the Taco burger, the only good thing that was there before. Guess they went with just replace the full menu / restaurant with something else

(sorry for double)

I wonder if Frontierland will be 'moving' to the area that's been rumored for expansion behind Big Thunder. Will take several years to get to that point, but would fix the mix theming going on now.

The food quality there went really downhill with the menu change (and the removal of the fixings bar, which if I'm being honest is most likely never coming back). It's about as bad as Cosmic Rays now. Disney recently redid the menu for ABC Commissary at HS which used to be really bad but is now pretty solid. I wish MK's quick service places received similar treatment.

I thought the writing on the wall for the fixins bar was when they started to charge extra for guac, the last time I ate there was pre-closures in 2019 and I saw a family straight up making a whole meal out of the toppings. Not the first time I saw something like that in there either. I think Covid just gave Disney the excuse they needed to get rid of it imo.

That place badly needs the ABC Commissary treatment though. As it is I prefer to have snacks at MK and only do full meals at Skipper Canteen or LTT. Lunch/dinner on MK days is usually a resort thing for us otherwise.

Hey now! I like Cosmic Ray’s! 😆😆 But I’m a plain burger person, so I’m easy to please. I do wish they’d bring back condiment cups though, opening a million ketchup packets is really obnoxious
