I agree, I wouldn’t expect any issues for non-holidays.I don't think the special was good for July 4.
I don't think you'll have an issue getting into a park, IMO.

Mears Connect and Sunshine Flyer Join Forces for Disney World Transportation
Mears Connect and Sunshine Flyer have announced that they will merge two complementary services into one entity, creating Mears Connect Driven by Sunshine.
Can the next chapter in this story be "Disney reimplements Magical Express service from MCO?" While I liked both Mears and Sunshine Flyer (I thought Mears was better as they sorted out the customers by resort more efficiently...Sunshine Flyer had us on a bus with the All Stars resorts and we were staying at Boardwalk) there was nothing like getting off the plane onto a bus and having your bags in the room waiting for you.Mears Connect and Sunshine Flyer Join Forces for Disney World Transportation

Does this mean I’m going to have to start walking to the far end of the transportation level again? Sunshine Flyer’s spot is so convenient!Mears Connect and Sunshine Flyer Join Forces for Disney World Transportation

Interesting turn of events. Now, if only Disney would contract them for included resort transportation...sounds like a great idea!
I imagine this means pricing will go up.Mears Connect and Sunshine Flyer Join Forces for Disney World Transportation

This can only lead to higher prices because of less competition.Mears Connect and Sunshine Flyer Join Forces for Disney World Transportation

And more busses..and drivers... I guess they will save theoretically if they consolidate the area of embarking at MCO.This can only lead to higher prices because of less competition.
eh, hubby and i actually prefer to just catch an uber to our resort since ME left. and honestly if they were to bring it back in some form we'd probably still uberMears Connect and Sunshine Flyer Join Forces for Disney World Transportation

Exactly. For evidence, see below:In that spirit, I think the demise was mostly driven by the easy ability to get an inexpensive ride share (uber, lyft, etc.)---once enough people started doing that, ME was no longer serving its purpose. In the misquoted words of Tony Soprano: "It's gotta go."
After reading years of posts that recommended using rideshare (with or without letting DME bring the luggage), I wasn’t surprised when DME ended.eh, hubby and i actually prefer to just catch an uber to our resort since ME left. and honestly if they were to bring it back in some form we'd probably still uber
