REVIEW: $50 Cocktails and More Surprises at The Rose Aboard the Disney Wish
June 12, 2023 by Eric Morton

As the newest addition to Disney Cruise Line’s fleet, the Disney Wish promises to offer guests an unparalleled vacation experience, and The Rose bar is no exception. Inspired by the classic tale of “Beauty and the Beast,” The Rose bar is a beautifully designed venue that transports guests to the enchanted world found in the storybook.

That's because DFB bought Allears a few years ago, I've found them to be in a clickbait spiral ever since. Allears' youtube channel has pretty much tanked since Molly left and started Mammoth club, their subscriber numbers are high but their video hits are really low. I tend to avoid both DFB and Allears now unless I'm specifically searching out information on a particular restaurant/ride/hotel/etc.
AllEars has been tweeting things like "These four attractions are CLOSED for your June trip" or "Four attractions are CLOSED next week at WDW"... If you click the article, it lists the Boneyard (not really an "attraction"), Blizzard Beach (which is seasonally closed and is a park), Voyage of the Little Mermaid (essentially closed for good), and Tiana's Bayou Adventure (which has not even opened yet!)...

The definition of click bait.

It could be worse. There's a thread on another board I follow that provides "headlines" from a wdwnt, plus a summary of the attached story. One of my favorites:

Shots Fired at Disney World Attraction (The Frontierland Shooting Arcade exists. While using photos of Rise of the Resistance and Big Thunder Mountain in the article preview)

Oh, dear... I watch WDWNT on YouTube sometimes, but only skipping around to the stories that are interesting because a lot of it is too Jerry Springer show...

Are the new characters showing up for anyone in MDE, or is everyone else still getting the blank Mickey heads? Not a big deal, just a curiosity. New characters = Angel, Baymax, Esmerelda, Hiro, Jawas, TomorrowlandSpaceCouple

They also do one of my favorites "Classic Disney attraction CLOSED INDEFINITELY!!" and it turns out that Pirates of the Caribbean in Disneyland Paris was closed for 15 minutes.

Ezra Bridger Legacy Lightsaber Arrives at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities at Hollywood Studios

Ezra Bridger’s legacy lightsaber arrived earlier today at Dok-Ondar’s and we stopped by to take some photos!

This Lightsaber hilt is a detailed recreation of the one wielded by the Jedi Padawan, Ezra Bridger, and comes direct from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Walt Disney World and Disneyland. Hilt comes in a lined display case with Jedi symbol on the front.

The lightsaber comes with a display endcap and an action endcap. The display endcap is shown in the photos immediately below and contains an opening too small for a lightsaber.

The action endcap contains an opening large enough to fit a lightsaber blade into. Ezra’s legacy lightsaber color is green.

So great to see Rebels being acknowledged. Ezra is one of our favorite characters.

That is terrible... The bait-and-switch in using a different park/ride photo is another pet peeve of mine.

The story does look good, but I can't stand game trailers with no gameplay. I will reserve judgemnet until we've seen that. It's supposed to be later today, which is why I really don't understand the point in releasing the cinematic only trailer.
As technology gets better cinematic trailers are starting to dwindle down, sort of. But I agree we need gameplay before we can really comment on the game itself. The developer is what excites me. EA usually makes the SW stuff and they're trash as a developer. Everything they release is riddled with bugs and feels incomplete. The days of micro-transactions bothering me is pretty much done but we should at least be getting solid base games. Even stuff like Madden which is their bread winner so to speak is horrible for the first few months.

Edit: not to get too far off topic

Currently Massive (game developer) is talking about Outlaws right now on the Ubi livestream. So far no gameplay yet ...

EDIT: now showing gameplay ... sort of cookie cutter Ubisoft Wildlands meet 3rd person Far Cry in Star Wars. Still looks like fun though as you've got speeder-bikes and 'No Man's Sky' like space travel.

The new Avatar Ubi game looks to be Far Cry on Pandora.

10 minute Outlaws Gameplay walkthrough below ...

We loved the Rose! Stopped there several nights and enjoyed the view while having a pre-dinner cocktail. But I wish its location was similar to Meridian on the Dream/Fantasy which have a more interesting view.

Also, getting to this lounge (along with Palo and Enchante) can be a bit awkward because of the elevators. Only some of the elevators in the aft bank actually go up to that deck.

Walt Disney’s Former L.A. Home Is Now Renting for $40,000 a Month
Disney built the Storybook-style house following the success of his Mickey Mouse and Silly Symphony short films
6/12/2023

Walt Disney’s former Los Angeles home—now for rent asking $40,000 a month—looks like something out of one of his films: Largely covered in vines, the Storybook-style home has a turret, leaded-glass windows and a cobblestone motor court.

Disney built the four-bedroom Los Feliz home in 1932, according to Disney historian and blogger Todd Regan, and lived there with his wife and family for about 20 years before moving to Holmby Hills. The property is now owned by Kazakhstan-born film director Timur Bekmambetov, who bought it in 2011 for $3.7 million, according to public records.

Bekmambetov, who lives in Israel and visits the Los Feliz home a few times a year, has worked with Regan to organize tours of the property. He is now renting it out, he said, because he wants people to be able to experience staying there.
