Okay, update Star Tours, but can we also get a new Millennium Falcon adventure…

Star Tours Sets Course for New Adventures in 2024
Bright Suns! I’m writing to you from London, where we just wrapped our Walt Disney Imagineering panel at Star Wars Celebration 2023. I was thrilled to join Imagineers Ann Morrow Johnson and Asa Kalama, as well as Matt Martin from Lucasfilm as we talked about how Star Wars comes to life at Disney parks. This was the first Celebration in Europe since 2016, so I really enjoyed spending the weekend here reconnecting with Star Wars and Disney fans from this part of the world (and beyond).

Today we made several exciting announcements related to Star Wars and Disney parks, so I wanted to make sure you heard all the news … beginning with the attraction that started it all for us in this galaxy far, far away …

In 2024, we’re going to add more stories and characters to Star Tours at three of our destinations around the world – Disneyland park in California, Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida, and Disneyland Paris in France. Since it debuted at Disneyland in 1987 as the first Star Wars attraction in a Disney park, Star Tours has traveled to new places as this galaxy of stories expanded. We’re looking forward to continuing that tradition next year with all new adventures … but I can’t reveal just where we’re going yet – or those we may meet along the way – because … well … some surprises are best experienced as part of the upcoming Star Wars content also announced this weekend. Here’s hoping C-3PO’s piloting skills have improved!

And speaking of Starspeeder pilots, be sure to check out the new playlist from DJ R3X we just released, featuring more of his favorite tracks you may hear when you visit Oga’s Cantina on Batuu. Turns out R3X may just be a better DJ than pilot … but don’t tell him I said that.

We also announced a new Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser playlist will launch next month on streaming platforms to celebrate May the 4th. This soundtrack includes songs from galactic superstar Gaya, who performs aboard the Halcyon starcruiser as part of that amazing, fully immersive experience.

We’re also working on a special 12-inch vinyl pressing of Gaya’s music, so be on the lookout for that.

😴😴😴 I agree if you are going to spend time, money and effort on new story it's time to change the scenery on Millennium Falcon. When the newer super build ride has similar wait times to the old mall style simulator there is a problem. At least ST changes up each ride. When they announced MF I was not excited, I mean why are we going to have two flying simulators? Now that it's built we really enjoy it (as long as decent pilots) and ST we do because DS insists and it's often a short wait. It's the teacups of DHS.

BUT I don't want a new show, I want it gone. I don't think SW IP should be outside of Galaxy Edge. I'd like to see that area become Marvel related and they can start with Star Tours becoming Ant Man. Shrink us down and let's go! 🐜🐜

I would practically bet money it’ll be places from the tv shows that start popping in Star Tours, like I’m pretty sure Lothal will be one of the new locations, Sabine was hanging out in Ezra’s old flat in the Ahsoka trailer. I just want funny lothcat hijinks and I’ll be happy.

I’m personally hoping for Krykna on Atollon, but then they’d probably have to put a scare warning on it. As long as they don’t over saturate it with Grogu or get rid of Boba and the seismic charges, I’m excited.

I'd love to see all of the original trilogy back in the theaters again, it's been a long time, at least in my area of the country.
I would love to see the original original trilogy. Alas, that won't happen except on VHS or YouTube. Will probably try to see these though, since our son has never seen them in a theater. We are old enough to have seen the first release and then the re-release before the prequels in the theater.

Saw THE original, opening night in the theaters. Back in the ice age when you had to wait in line at the theater to buy a ticket, then get back in line to enter the theater - to then extreme fight for your seats.

I'd love to see it now! DS is going to upcoming Return of Jedi (he's too young to have seen in theaters) and so sad I'll be out of town unable to go.

An independent theater in a town close to me shows two of the first six movies each year along with a little mini-convention (one OT and one PT) . They did the original three its first year and the prequels the second year, and now it’s just a random draw. It’s fabulous. We always get super-hyped when they choose Attack of the Clones so we get the seismic charge on the big screen!
