Best DVC studio for family of 3

Hello everyone. Would appreciate your advice. I am a Disney newbie planning our first trip to WDW. We are two adults and one five year old daughter. Interested in renting DVC points for a studio villa. We plan to spend most our our time close to the Magic Kingdom with a side trip to Animal Kingdom and a side trip to Sea World. We do not plan on spending time at Epcot or Hollywood Studios. Proximity and ease of transportation is important to us. Would like to find something in a quieter area. We are looking at the studios at Wilderness Lodge, the Beach Club and Bay Lake Towers. Would like to stick to a budget of XXXX one week for lodging. Any thoughts on which one would be the best for us?

I would go with Bay Lake towers as it is on the monorail. If you want to keep
cost down you need go for a standard view. These book out at 11 months due to there relative low points. Therefore the person you rent from would have to own there. It is 139 points for a week in a studio.
For three people you will be fine in a studio. These are quite small at BLT but have a fridge, microwave etc. You DD would be on a sofa bed.

Good luck

I think that VWL or BLT will be good choices for the trip as both allow for easy access to MK.

We love BLT and its our favorite resort. The studios there are smaller than those at VWL but with 3, especially one being a child, it will be fine.

Good luck!

I would definitely go for BLT for the trip you described if you can swing it. Otherwise, I would go for VWL.

Definitely consider seeing Epcot and DHS on your next trip and staying at BWV or BCV. Lovely!

Since BLT is very cramped and crowded for a studio with 4 people, I'm going to go against the grain here. I'll say if you want to be near MK, then you should stay at VWL. The studios are a bit bigger and it's a convenient boat ride away from the MK. On the other hand. I'd probably go for OKW instead because you get two REAL queen sized beds (no double sized sleep sofa like all the rest of the DVC resorts have), and the bus service to MK is fantastic from there. Unfortunately, the bus service to AK is NOT so good, since those buses stop at Blizzard Beach first and that makes the trip a bit longer than you wish it would take.

I agree with Diane on the studio for four. But you posted you have four and you posted you have three. For three (two adults and a small kid) BLT would work. For four (two adults and two kids or three adults and one small kid) BLT would be crowded.

But almost no matter where you stay (except for AKV/AKL), the bus to AK will stop at Blizzard Beach.

Sorry everyone. The subject line should have read: family of three, not 4. We are 2 adults and one child. Thank you for all the great feedback! I think I am leaning toward the VWL. Rates are a little less and I think my daughter will love the atmosphere. Also like the idea of a boat ride to MK. Any cons to staying in a studio at VWL?

My vote is for BLT. We love it there so nice! we have a 5 and 4 year old and being that close is amazing. I know I am going to go against the grain and say we thought BLT was great for us and had plenty of room in our studio with our 2 kids, my husband and I. We bring lots of luggage and we had no trouble finding room. We even brought my parents and sister this past trip and we booked two studios and no one had problems with space. we are also new to DVC only taking three point trips but they have all been at BLT! We just LOVE it there. No matter what you choose have an amazing trip!!! :)

I prefer BLT for the walking distance to MK and buses but with that being said I have late teens who like to stay at the parks late and it makes things easier for them. VWL has a great pool and atmosphere and the boat ride to MK is easy and actually a nice treat on a sunny day! You can easily take a boat to CR and monorail to all other resorts. Have fun!
