Disney Movie Magic projection show premieres tonight at DHS

Do we know if it's starting tonight and going every night or is it just a test? We have the dessert party on 6/5. I'm wondering if they are they going to change the time and walk us out to see this?

No clue. They have been testing at night after park closing for about 2 weeks. Show director just posted on facebook to go to dhs tonight for a special surprise so I googled and found a couple of bloggers with the news

Watched a video of it - i thought it was well done and liked that it was "hosted" by Walt

A little too much focus on newer movies and some of the live action remakes of animated movies and stuff and not enough of the old classics but what are ya gonna do

I caught it just in time to go see it.. my 360 takes longer to process so maybe by the morning it'll be up...

It's entertaining, not a go out of your way to see thing but if it's there watch it.. , it was at 9, lasted about 8-9 minutes.. no fireworks or anything, just a new projection show.. I'm 99% sure that this is the lights I've been seeing coming from HS at night since the last rundisney weekend.

although I skipped pixar for this so i'll need to go back to hs for pixar which started tonight as well.

This is awesome! I love Disney night shows and am always happy when they add another one. This was a really well-kept secret :)

Great! I cannot wait to find out more info on this show. Wondering if it will be run nightly, and what the timing will be. Too many new things to fit into my birthday trip in 14 days! We are only spending 4 nights (just me and my hubby), and we have La Nouba the first evening (I had to add something for him during the trip, but now feeling like that is going to end up taking up nearly an entire afternoon and evening by the time we do it). Just means we only have 3 nights, and was only planning HS for the last day, since it was not a full day anyway. This looks like it is worth trying to fit in somewhere though, just have to see what the schedule will pan out to be for it.

I would love to know what happens to the people attending the Star Wars Dessert Party as well. I want to see this show but we already have the Dessert Party booked one night and Fantasmic another night.

I think this is a show that will change constantly depending on what movies Disney has recently released and what future movies are coming up. If you look at the films that were "showcased", they were all more recent films OR were old versions of films that are going to be coming out soonish (new Mary Poppins and new Indiana Jones). It also appears this will focus more on the live action films then the animated ones which does make sense in my opinion considering the setting.

I'd be ok with that. the projection shows I get bored with because it's like watching that show animation over and over again. while kids can do it, I get tired of it pretty quick.
