Hi guys... We got this in the mail today, and it seems to be a good deal. 3 movies for 1.99 and you have to buy 5 more at reg price within 2 years. We are always buying Disney movies, so is it worth it. What is their "regular" club price?

They have a deal right now where you can buy a 4th for 5 bucks off and it counts toward your 5 .... So, you only have to buy 4 at reg price ( in 2 years)

So, what do you all think?

We've done it. The 1.99 per movie is a good deal. I think when we did it we got 5 movies during registration and only paid $31. Somehow also, those first 5 movies included 2 that were our "regular" price movies, so now we only have to buy 3 more. And I think I have bought one more. I can't remember. They send offers all the time for free shipping or buy one get one 50% off. So all in all it's a good deal after you spend probably $100 total for the 5 required ones but you end up with many more that are discounted.

I'm in the club. The only thing I don't like about it is the New movies that are just released aren't available to the club for a while. And the shipping is a little bit slow in my opinion, but if you're willing to wait.......

and yes, they do have sales a lot. All in all I like it. Oh yeah, and they do have older movies that you can't find in the stores.

And to answer your question, the prices are 'about' the same. Some say you can get a better price at Walmart, especially not paying the shipping. But when the sales come out, I think I've come out much better than Walmart. I think dvd's run about $19.99

The prices do tend to be a bit higher than in stores, but they run some good specials throughout the year.

Once I fulfill my obligation, I will probably cancel my membership, but it was great because we were able to get a lot of great movies for DS for a fraction of what we would have paid in stores.

I just signed up and got 3 dvd's for 5.97, no shipping, plus it comes with a cute little mickey back pack. I hope i get these before our 10/7 trip, the back pack looks like a good size for one of my dd's in the park...

I think the regular dvd cost is 14.97

The DVD's run between $19.97 - $21.97. Somretimes higher if it a 2-disc edition. They do have better sales once you complrete your requirements. They offer x-mas ornaments, pins with pin cases that will hold up to 20 pins all free with prchase. I have been a member for about 6 yrs now. They do have some great older movies and I always buy the new releases on the 1st day for $15 not from the club. I do get a lot of adult movies though. Last offer was buy one full price and get up to 4 more at half off.

If the free backpack is red with a Mickey, it is bigger than it looks and very durable. My DD used it through Kindergarden and 1st grade and I now use it as a diaper bag.

I signed us up earlier this year and overall it is a good deal. I agree about the new releases being offered later by the Club and if it is a movie you really want right away it is probably best to buy it somewhere else since most new releases through the Club are $21.95 + shipping. I like it because there are lots and lots of movies that are not available anywhere else. I also recently purchased several DVD's for $10 each during one of the many special offers.

I just completed my membership requirements today, signed up about 11 days ago (getting ready for xmas and birthdays). What I liked was that you can get the old movies that I can't even rent now. I got all of the Love Bug movies (big Herbie fans here!) and I can't find them anywhere else. I'm glad that I no longer need to 'complete' the membership. I'll stay signed up to see what deals they post, but can cancel anytime I want.

Most VHS are 17. and most DVDs are 20. Shipping is ok, but you're better off buying several at one time.

I am a member and like it because alot of the movies I have not seen in stores recently. For all new releases or ones I can still get in the store though I go to walmart.

I got the mailing yesterday and seems like a great deal. It says if you use your credit card the total for all three movies is just $1.00. Is that true? I think I will do it and buy the 2 bonus DVDs now. It is great for the older movies that you can't get right now. We can get most new releases at Wal-Mart for $15 when they come out.

Okay,
I had been debating about whether to join or not. I have been in Columbia House a long time ago and I hated it because they would always send CD's every month and you were stuck with them whether you wanted them or not...But this deal seems like a good one to me. The movies are actually good movies...

I did it online with a cc and so I got the bonus movie and then 3 for $1. So, I got 4 movies for $15! :goodvibes I think that was a good deal.

We ordered Dumbo anniversary edition, Robin Hood(my girls love that movie and you can't find it anywhere!), Alice in Wonderland anniversary edition, and then my bonus was Bear in the Big Blue House for my ds, who loooovvves Bear. I am happy! :flower: I hope they get here before we leave on the 1st.

Yes it is true if you use a credit card that you get the 3 movies for just $1. We got the 3 and then the 2 discounted movies and our total was $25.90 for 5 movies. We just did it less than a wk ago. I like that when you get the card about the months movie you can go on the internet to refuse it that way you don't have to hope they get the response card in time and worry about returning a movie you don't want if not.

I have just signed up for the club and I think it is great. My girls love to pick the movies out. We race to the mailbox to see what movies have come. :earsgirl:
