Disney Movie Club Pins for trading

The only movie club pins he is trading are ones we got duplicates of---we just got a cool Cinderella slipper one and there is NO WAY he is selling that one because I like it too much. I figured I'd rather him trade a $4.95 pin than a $10 one.

I'll send you two pins for every single movie pin, if you wanted to trade. I can get you a pic of my "keepers" if you'd like.

Does anyone really know if the pins ever become more valuable? I'm thinking maybe 5x-10x their original price? I would think Disney makes as many pins as they can sell thus negating their future value.

Anything that everybody can't walk into the parks and get is worth a bit of money. The ones they sell at the ice cream shop generally gain 2x-3x their original price. More so if they have desirable characters, such as stitch, or the villains. They sell limited edition pins, between 20-1,000 pins. They sell the proofs of pins. There are rare pins.

Interesting. Thanks for the info. I had wondered if it was more like Beanie Babies where almost all had virtually no value. I just send a large box off to Goodwill.

Beanie babies were a fad. Disney pins are over 20 years and still going strong. If you ever see a "piece of disney" pin, get it. I can almost guaruntee it will be worth 3-4x the original price. There are different types of pins out there, open edition is the kind you're talking about being over printed, but even those when they are discontinued are worth a bit more than original price... depending on condition, of course.

I was kind of hoping for a hybrid, some pins we bought because I thought he would like them...if possible I bought 2 (I got 2 Baymax pins for $4.95 each) so he could trade one...others like the lot on Ebay, I bought specifically to trade (but tried not to get scrappers, hence, buying the ones that were packaged and $2 a pin), but he liked them ALL, all 25 of them, even characters from movies he hasn't seen. lol

My 9 year old is like that. SO now I purposely buy Tiinkerbell/princess/minnie pins, so he'll want to trade them! He was super popular last fall when we went... he had a ton of frozen pins that he was trading away! haha!
