We go to WDW for three weeks on 16/11, but unlike other years I just cannot get excited about it.

I have been to the USA to work three times since March,go again this Wednesday and again in November returning two days before flying off to Orlando. I think this is the problem. I have done the shopping malls and theme parks [six flags].

In past years I have been counting down hours and seconds etc, I have ordered some guidebooks to read but amazon are taking ages to deliver.

Come on DIS'rs tell something to get the excitement level up!!

Also any idea when the e-rides info appears for NOV?

Thanks

Chris

Chris,

I too have lost motivation on occasions when travelling to the world, but I have seen one (and not the only) thing which never fails to recharge those "motivation batteries"................. Look into the eyes of a child who is seeing Cinderellas Castle for the first time.

Never fails;)

Cheers

Try reading some of the 'Best Of' Trip Reports. These always remind me why I love to visit WDW.

Hi Chris
I think Robs suggestion is good.............go back and read your old trip reports, about when you lost one of the boys at AK, and how you swore you'd never go back! Read about your Thanksgiving meal............how you met some friends.........it'll soon come back to you Chris!

:) :)

(but just dont think about all the $$$ Val could spend at the Malls either ;) )

I suppose doing the same thing a lot does get a bit dull. But as some of the others have said, look how the kids enjoy it (do you have kids ?) I will NEVER EVER forget our first parade infront of the Castle with our 2 girls, who were 5 and 2 when we went this year, they were called out into the parade, and I could hardly film it without shaking, the hairs on the back of my neck are standing up now typing it, I will remember it forever, and want them to experience it as much as possible, even if it does get a bit dull for us grown ups.

Have a great time.

Steve

Thanks everyone, some good ideas, I suppose I should think how lucky I am three weeks at the world etc. [Janice I am thinking about the $$$ Val is going to spend in the malls]

The boys will really enjoy it, and if we go again in 3-4 years they will be 13+17 so make the most of the wide eyes and innocence now.

It is very difficult to think past my trips this week and on the 4/11, no doubt when I get back from the USA on 13/11 I will be really excited to go to WDW on 16/11.

this is going to be such a different holiday from 1999 with no EE and shorter opening hours and maybe limited e-ride, if any [all of which I really enjoyed]. so we will have to find different things to do. Also one of Scotts classmates and her family will be there for two of the weeks, which will be nice as it is Vals best freind [and maybe her husband will prop up the bar with me lol]
I bet when we are on Virgin on the 16th/ Val tearing up at MCO and saying can you smell the smell [the air conditiong at the airport has a distinct smell apparently!!] and the boys running about the ASMo like they did on their first visits when we arrive, I will think what a jerk, and start getting into it.

I just feel guilty, everyone else is so looking forward to it and I am being Victor Meldrew.

I will buy a guidebook at LHR on Wednesday and read it on the flight [better than the four credit management textbooks I should be reading lol] and print off some trip reports.

i am off to put on the music from the park cd that normally does it

Thank-You to everyone for replying

Hi Chris :sunny:

I'm wondering if you are just really tired with the demands of your job ........ I hope you take it easy when you first arrive - before you hit the parks, you might be better off relaxing for a little while............ a lounger by the pool, drinks in hand etc.

Don't feel concerned/guilty because you are not excited! Just let the Disney magic come to you when you are out there ........ I'll bet it works on you just fine :earsboy: !

Leeds Utd Fan funny you say about the air conditioning smell When Im in UK I sometimes smell it walk in fridge at Kwiksave in Huddersfield and 1st thing I think of is Florida,If you need motivation just think what happened last Sat morning Im a Gooner myself and I did a cartwheel!!

Leeds fans, Gooners, is this turning into a footie board ?

Mind you I am a Liverpool fan, and I have to saythat I did smile somewhat on Saturday.

I know what you mean about the air con. we have a portable unit in the office at work, and for the first ten minutes when it is switched on it smells, last week I walked into the room , and thought aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, All Star Movies
