Hello I am trying to find a place to sell of my collection of Disney Monorail toys. My husband & I have deceided to start downsizing my Disney collection which has over taken 3 rooms of our house and I have no idea where to begin selling these items. They have never been removed from the boxes and have just been stored in storage containers. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you and a have a great day

The best place is Ebay - that is the most active marketplace for original Disney monorail sets and their related accessories. The bidding can get quite robust for anything rare (especially limited series buildings and park attractions). And even more of a premium if it's new and unused.

i agree, Ebay, is the best place, and there is not that many on there so you can probably get top dollar for them, last year when i was looking for the contemparary set it took awhile before i found one i could purchase:thumbsup2

You could also do private sale and post on several boards (like this one) along with pictures what you want to sell, what you are looking to get for it, etc.

eBAy and PayPal fees are ridiculous and when you add in the extra charges that you incur if you try to take credit cards on PayPal it becomes a losing proposition. I would like to recommend CraigsList but the freak factor has been off the chart lately - way too many wackos on Craigs (sadly).

I would sugest EBAY as well....

I knew eBay has become Disney toy monorial central when I started seeing auctions there for not just the toys themselves but also repair/modification services as well as aftermarket accessories.

You are not going to find people on forums here or on Craigslist who are selling a package to install a higher-powered motor in your cab unit, or to repair and strengthen the rare motorized Dumbo ride accessory (which is well know for breaking down due to poor design)...but you will on eBay.

You are also not going to find high quality aftermarket track pieces (double/half/quarter length straights or tight radius curves) for sale in forums here or on Craigslist...but you will on Ebay...etc. etc. etc.

I haven't posted here in awhile, but hopefully my understanding of the forum rules is clear. I would be very, very interested in your monorail toys. Ebay is a good place to sell, but will take about 20% of all you'd get for them when you take listing fees, final value fees and Paypal fees of course.
I'm all for Paypal as it's super fast and very secure for both buyer and seller, but I'd be willing to incur the Paypal fee so it doesn't cost you anything to receive the funds.
If you still have the playsets, drop me a line, I'm in.

I would also be interested in some of the sets you might have. I have most of the original ones that came but I am missing a couple of them like the main street station.

Could you let us know which ones you have to sell? I could also do paypal and would be glad to pick up the paypal fees as well.
