We are thinking of getting the Disney Mobile phones.

Here is the info provided for them:

450 mins a month =$59.99
700 mins a month = $74.99

two lines are included in the price, each additional line is $9.99

there is an activation charge of $35 for the first line, and $25 for each additional line.

you have to purchase their phones, they are $59.99 each, but right now you buy 1 get 1 free. (you only get the free one if you are going to activate it as an additional line.)

Free mobile to mobile in YOUR disney family only
free nights/weekends 9pm-5:59am
long distance included

Also included:

family alert: unlimited pop-up messages to those in your famiy plan
family monitor- set minute limits on each child's account
family locator: locate your child (or their phone :rotfl: ) via GPS

I specifically asked about the family locator b/c that is what is drawing us to DM. At first he insisted that it was included free. I had to push him to check into it b/c on the website you can tell that there is some charge that you have to approve when you watch the demonstration. He then said "Yes, you get the first 5 free, but then each one is .49."

The official opening isn't until June 7th.

We are still debating about it. I really like the idea of the locator, but I don't know if I want to pay for more phones and activation fees :scratchin

We have been waiting on the information on this to see if we wanted to switch services (and need new phones anyways). But that is only HALF the minutes we get currently, at the same price. :guilty:
 
what network are these through? How long is the contract? Are there roaming charges, or can we all still call each other in WDW? :rotfl2:

I believe it is through Sprint

You have to sign a 2 year contract to start

There are roaming charges if they don't have service in that area...... but I did have him look up WDW via their zip code and he said yes they have service there.

He also said that they are "working" on having a free Disney mobile to Disney mobile (like Verizion) but they don't have it yet.

Did they send you an e-mail? Did they send you a mailing? Where did you get the phone number to speak with someone or did they call you?

I called them. We're DVC members and they have "preview" of the program for us.
 
Thatdoesn't seem like a lot, for 2 phones. I think I pay more right now....maybe 69.99 for first phone and 9.99 for the 2nd phone, for like 700 minutes. Through Cingular. Of course, I have a contract still on one of the phones. I'll keep an eye on the Disney Mobile. I feel like I am missing something in the cost.
 
I think it is expensive.

Our plan is $49.99 for two lines and 500 minutes.

That's why I'm debating on it. I think I'm leaning towards keeping my current provider, eventhough I would love to have DM.
