I was planning on creating my own invitations, but now that I actually sat and thought about it I don't want them to come out bad :( so any suggestions for cheap ones but not cheap looking??? Our theme is Mickey and Minnie!!! Any help would be great!

you can always do a google search for them...we ordered our disney ones with the castle at the top ..not mickey and minnie....from rsvp.com...they had a lot of mickey ones though....price wise they might be a little up there, but the quality is great.

There is a sticky thread on here about invitations that you might want to go through. Lots and lots of pictures and ideas!

I bought a kit @ Michael's that I'm working on now. It has been really, really easy with the template they provide. Here is a link to some of the invitation kits they offer: http://www.gartnerstudios.com/wedding/BRIDES! Collection Before you buy you can even download the free template and mess around with it to see how they'd come out. I've been printing on regualar paper so I don't wast the invitations and so far they've come out really nice. The good thing about doing your own is that you can pull clipart from the internet and use any pictures you want. We're using the castle as our inspiration.

ETA: the best part is that you can use the 40% off coupon (you can print it out) on the kits. I got a kit with 30 invitations in it for $26! That included everything. I went with this set: http://www.gartnerstudios.com/node/2488 Because I saved so much I changed out the ribbon to add some color and added a mat behind the actualy invitation part to add a little more color.

I was able to make these using clip art from the internet and stars I bought at Michaels. We bought the blank invites at Hobby Lobby...but then our printer started eating them. We took them to Office Max and had them printed.

I made response cards too, again using a clip art pic in the background. I did the same thing for the directions and thank you cards.

I had looked online but couldn't find anything I liked that was as inexpensive as I wanted! We were going with "When you wish upon a star" but also wanted Mickey and Minnie :)

Omg I love them!!!! You did a great job!

I, too, had a go at making my own invitations and order of service programmes using supplies from a 'DIY' invitation company here in the UK. I used a silhouette graphic of Mickey and Minnie (which has been used by a few other disbrides as well), and designed a logo for our Swan VR. I also added a small rhinestone for a bit of 'bling'!! I used the logo on everything from all the 'pre-VR' stationary, right through to all the 'bits' used on the day itself!!
I was surprised how easy it was to create the invites, and how well they turned out. Here are a couple of photos. The second one was taken by Randy on the day itself - I made sure I took an invitation with me so as it could be professionally photographed!!!

Why not have a go at designing them and printing them out on normal paper? That way you can always go to 'Plan B' and order professional ones later if yoiu are not happy with the results. I think you may be pleasantly surprised!!
