A good place to find lots of this sort of information is DisneyRunning.com it's an info site for every aspect of disney racing.
Are you a walker or runner or some of each?
My lady and I are walkers and we wear our iPods when we race. We will often just have our phones just hanging on our necks while we have lots of conversations with other wishers.
There is no best place to stay since every resort has bus transportation. You can't easily walk from any resort.
We usually have a group dinner gathering at the Pop Century food court the friday before about 4 pm. A lot of us do the half, the full and several do both as well as the friday morning 5K.
Welcome to the WISH. And I don't wanna come visit you on the Jersey Shore.
Walking Panda
Haha thanks for the welcome! ( and for not coming to the shore---the traffic is ridiculous and they litter like crazy!

)
I've started running more seriously this summer, I can do about 3 miles, at about an 11-12 minute pace. I run about 3-4 days a week although I just had a respiratory thing so I'll be going slower.

I'm giving myself a nice long time to work up to a marathon, training wise.
Good to know about the ipods, it says on the disney marathon website headphones are not allowed. Now I love my BF and we're very close, but I dont know if we could just talk for 4+ hours, while running. I need a good distraction, plus I use the cadence for pacing.
The place we stay is at BWV as we can walk back after the races through EPCOT so we don't have to take the busses. We take the busses to EPCOT.
The best place if money is no object is the Monorail resorts(Poly, Contemporary, or GF). It gets you their faster and later than the busses do. I have heard people getting on Monorail as late as 5:00 am while the last bus leaves the resorts at 4:00am(not advisable to wait that late).
Have fun and great trining for 2010
I would think an epcot resort would be good, but seeing as how I live at the jersey shore

, the theming doesn't really appeal to me for that price. Of course money is always an issue, but since BF and I have managed to take a trip each to Disney, while putting ourselves through school, now that we've graduated and are working, we were planning on staying at a Deluxe. Especially to treat ourselves for running! We were originally thinking AKL, but it's so out of the way! Plus the rooms, besides the view, don't really thrill me. I think the Contemporary looks really nice, and being a walk away for MK seems like a great idea, plus the monorail! Of course, it's more money....but we'll actually be having yearly salaries (being grown-ups!

) so we think we can manage.
We want to meal plan...deluxe, but seeing as how we've never run marathons, what we should eat, or be up to eating is unknown.
Any other runners or that? Or more advice??
PS I'll definately check out that site!
