Disney Magic western excursions

Bottom fishing on Castaway Cay (Ok, I'm biased),

Swimming with Stingrays on GC (Use Capt Marvins),

Swim with sea lions on Cozumel

Those are my three.

hey jim what was it like swimming with sea lions? Are they friendly/scarey...?? we have done stingrays and dolphins but sea lions would be a new one... I mentioned it to Jay and Mike and they looked at me like I said lets swim with the jelly fish.........

We've also done the Dolphins and Stingrays but Sea Lions?

Jim - Thank you for your recommendation for fishing at CC! I think that was the highlight of DD's trip! Especially when she caught a shark! What memories!

Thanks again!

Why Captain Marvins for the sting rays rather than the ******line tour? I have seen many posts to use Captain Marvins, but no reasons why.

Capt Marvins:
off the top of my head:

- Less expensive, as good or better
- less people
- as good or better boat

- if you do 1/2 day you do 2 snorkel dives plus SC (still less $$ than Disney's SC only)

- free rum cake afterwards to take home
- kids under 5 welcome
- will drop you off at 7 mile beach
- no herding of large excursion group

More ???'s on the Sea Lions.....

Went to the site and sounds great - but wondering how deep is the water??? DS isn't a particularly strong swimmer and wondering how much treadding there will be.....TIA!

Definitely take the opportunity to swim with the stingrays. It is an awesome experience.

We did the Back to Nature Kayaking at Key West. It was a good family excursion. Even though it did rain in the middle of it - the guides were awesome and we still had a great time. We were dressed to get wet after all.

DD & I went horseback riding in Cozumel, while DS & DH did the snorkeling at Chankanaab.

MarkLem,

Thanks, that's just the kind of information I was looking for. I think we will give Captain Marvins a try!

For those of you who booked Capt Marvins online, did you ever get a confirmation call or any type of confirmation email?? I booked it online about 3 weeks ago and have heard not a word from them confirimng they even got it.....

I reserved for our upcoming trip with Captain Marvins(back in Dec) and received a response e-mail within 12 hours, I would call them if I were you.

We booked about a month ago for our trip and we did get an email within 12 hours. We then changed our mind for the time we had chosen and they switched it with email confirmation. I would send another email. Good luck.

We took two DCL excursions on the western.
Key West - we snorkeled off of a catamaran
Grand Cayman - we snokeled in the harbor in front of the Magic at a shipwreck and at a nearby reef.

Would do both of these again. That being said, if I make it back to Grand Cayman, I'm going to Sting Ray City even if the rest of the family chickens out on me again!
