We are going on the Disney Magic this month and I was happening to read other posts about how lackluster the food was on other Disney Cruise ships. If anyone has been on the Magic recently or any other Disney Cruise ship this year please leave a quick review of the food. We went on the Magic three years ago and remember the food to be very good, I hope this hasn't changed. Thanks everyone!

We were on the Magic in Europe and the food was… mostly fine, not great. Some people on our cruise had problems with MDR dinners. We didn’t have any issues but found the menu options mostly uninspired. Cabanas breakfast was awful.

Now I say this with the caveat that this was in Europe so they were getting food from different suppliers than in the US.

we were also on it in europe. it was meh but better than the dream in april... but not by much. I love DCL but the food is not a highlight for sure.

I was on the Magic in Europe this summer as well. I didn’t have any problems and the food was fine. Not the best I’ve ever had but don’t expect it to be with mass production. Had some really good dishes and some stuff that wasn’t as good. But just ordered more of the good stuff.

And the service was phenomenal. Which is why I choose DCL.

I’ll second this. We were on in Europe as well. Actually thought the food was better than I remember, and as always, the Magic consistently has excellent service and our cruise was no exception.

We did a 13 day transatlantic and found the MDR‘s to be great. Buffet had some good hits but overall better than Golden Corral. I prefer breakfast in the MDR‘s.

We just got off the Magic in Dover on Sunday. The MDR food was very good, the menus just didn't vary much night to night. We don't eat a lot of food for breakfast so just the basics at Cabana's for us. The breakfast at the MDR during week was very good, debarkation day not as great

Thanks everyone for the replies, we went on a RC cruise this past May on Anthem of the Seas and the food was incredibly good. Very impressed with RC overall but I remember how good the shows and service was on the Magic three years ago, RC can’t compete with DCL on that.

Also in Europe this summer. I thought the food was fine but I'm not really a foodie. I tend to like simpler food without creamy sauces or gravies. Also very little red meat. A few nights I just asked for a salad with salmon. The bread is pretty bad - dry white tennis balls - helps me stay on my low- carb diet!

I was on the Magic for the first time way back on 1/31/22. I found all the soups to be too salty for my taste and the eggs in the breakfast sandwiches at cabanas to be cold. But I have been craving the sea bass from Rapunzel's...

Lol, I will steer clear of the tennis balls!

My favorite DCL dishes are all on the Magic. That being said I was on the Disney Wonder recently and thought wow the DCL food has gone down hill. It was average at best. Went on the Magic shortly after the Wonder sailing and the food was amazing. European suppliers vs U.S in my opinion makes all the difference. That being said you may not find some "American" foods like honey mustard for your hotdog on a European sailing. Enjoy your Magic Meals.

We had the same problem with soup on our 2019 Wonder cruise. My youngest was so disappointed because she loves soup and nearly every night it was too salty so she stopped ordering.

On the Magic now. Book Palo if you want great food. The MDRs are as they’ve always been. Good on presentation, lacking on taste/flavor but passable. It’s almost like they are afraid to put spices of any kind in food. I guess because of the wide audience they are catering to.

I’m on the Magic right now. Overall the food has been solid with a few stand out dishes and a few awful dishes (notably, all the steak in the MDR.) Palo brunch was great. Cabanas is hit and miss like always.

Oh no about the steaks! We'll be on the Magic soon and I was checking out the menus - and most of it was not appealing so was planning on having the "lighter note" steak most of the time. (I've always found the "lighter note" chicken to be so dry.)

I sailed on the Magic in October 2021 and the food quality was the same as it had been the two other times that we sailed on the Magic before Covid happened. The selection was more limited, but that should have gone back to normal by now.

I don’t know if it’s because their supplier in Europe for steak is not as good as in the US but the steak really hasn’t been great. Hopefully it will improve when she gets back to the US!

I was on the Magic out of Miami in February, I thought the food was good, where I ate. Dinner at MDR/Palo Brunch/Poolside snacks/concierge lounge. Rapunzels was surprisingly good. The apple strudel and seafood pasta dish were both stand-outs IMO.

Nothing to me was terrible… and I’m on the foodie side. Set expectations, they are serving lots of people at the same time ….

Service was top notch as well. Serving teams on the Magic Class ships always seem to be the best to me ….

That is great to hear - when we were on the Magic in 2019 my our favorite dish was the shrimp and scallops over pasta. Definitely will try the apple strudel.
