Disney Magic Transportation in NYC

HA! I hear you! :) I know about the "don't come to late breakfast if you have early dinner" thing because on my last Fantasy cruise there was a family that showed up all their luggage in tow to a table close to mine (different service team though) - that was occupied correctly by the family that occupied it during second dinner. The luggage-in-tow family had clearly not understood the instructions. I think one of the head waiters did finally find them a table that was not occupied - but it was not in their regular section.

yeah, I would see that causing all kinds of problems. Now I remember why we started using Cabanas LOL

Dug720 is absolutely correct. We had our last evening's dinner in Lumiere's so we were assigned our debarkation breakfast in Lumiere's. As I mentioned our cruise had only the one seating for breakfast but on a normal cruise there would be an early seating and late seating for breakfast in the MDR you ate in the night before.

Since we had so few guests onboard and only had one showtime and one dinner seating our morning breakfast schedule was different than normal last morning breakfast.

We usually do Cabanas on the last morning but since on our last breakfast was at 7:00 am we opted to go to Lumiere's.

Wow, what sailing was that? They really didn't have enough passengers to fill the restaurants for two seatings? It must have been a very quiet cruise (I think I would love that).

It was the October 7th NYC Magic cruise that was supposed to go 8 days to the Bahamas but because of Hurricane Matthew DCL changed the itinerary to an 8 day Canada cruise. People were notified Tues or Wed for a Friday sailing and were given the option of full refund if they wanted to cancel. Many people rebooked for the October 15th, 22nd or 29th Magic out of NYC. Our ship was like a ghost ship but heard the other NY cruises were full to capacity.

After the first night's dinner and show (which were practically empty) they decided to have only one show at 6:15 pm and one dinner seating at 7:15 pm. The dining teams were very happy!!! It really was a nice change. The shows had much more audience energy when the theater was full.

I would not have minded Canada rather than the Bahamas. In fact we sailed out of NYC on 10/2 and saw the Magic there for (I guess) a Canadian sailing. We packed an extra sweater and jacket in case our cruise went north instead of to Bermuda. We were at full capacity and lucky to make it to Bermuda between the two hurricanes.

I will say though, if the NYC terminal wants to host ships as large as the Breakaway, they need to update their spaces and technology. It was a nightmare checking in (systems kept crashing) and a nightmare trying to get off (one elevator and one escalator for 3,900 passengers). Boy did I miss my small little Magic!
