Disney Magic - Dec 10, 2011 - Western Caribbean Cruise - Sun, Fun and Beaches!

I would be proud to share our "Disney Dork" title. This title was given to us last Christmas when we insisted on returning to Disneyland after changing clothes for the 3rd time in one day (it rained over 3" that day). The friends of my kids chose to stay dry in the hotel. We were wet, but the lines were sure short!! Come rain or shine, Disney is amazing!

We are leaving EARLY on Friday morning to catch a bus to Chicago (around 1.5 hours from our house), it's about a 2.5 hour flight to MCO where we'll either pick up a mini-van (my choice for budget reasons) or have a limo pick us up (DH's choice for awesome-ness reasons) and we'll head to Country Inn and Suites where we will relax, pick up anything we might have forgotten, and otherwise wait no so patiently for the next day.

We'll take the free shuttle over to the port the next day.

DH is questioning my hotel choice...he thinks that after 5 for so hours of travel that day the girls won't be fit for travel much further than a hotel at MCO. I see his point, but the location of CIS makes me feel much more calm about making the boat on time. I mean, anything could happen in the hour drive...flat tire, bad directions, traffic, car trouble, etc. But don't mind me, I'm just a class A worry wart! :upsidedow
I vote for your choice  I like to be as close to the port as possible the night before the cruise and the CIS is a really nice place to stay pre cruise :thumbsup2 By the time you drive 30 minutes to a WDW resort you could be halfway to Port Canaveral :dance3:

Thanks, guys! I'm sure I'll be happy no matter what we end up doing. :)

I think the rainy weather here today prompted extra excursion research! I went ahead and booked one, outside of the comfort of DCL...we decided to do a beach break in Cozumel at Nochi Cocom (awesome pictures here: http://www.tripadvisor.com/LocationPhotos-g150809-d185575-Nachi_Cocom-Cozumel_Yucatan_Peninsula.html)

Anyone have any experience with this one? Had good reviews on Trip Advisor.

I think our one and only DCL excision will be the Nautilus tour in GC. Just hope it's still available next Sunday at midnight!

Thanks all for chiming in on your plans. If we do decide to red-eye it, where should we go between 6:30 AM and whenever it's time to board? Is it possible to hang out at the DCL terminal? Or do you think I will seriously regret the loss of a good night's sleep?

I think we have decided loosely on an itinerary, with the focus on "doing nothing", which is something we both really need. :goodvibes

I looked at that website that shows you which ships will be in each port at the same time, and there will be 6 ships in both Grand Cayman and Cozumel! To me, that sounds like it will be quite crazy busy everywhere. Anyone have any insight into this?

So I followed your link and did some research of my own... Nachi Cocom looked like it would be PERFECT for DH and I, and I saw that their massage rates are very reasonable ($70 for an hour, which is about what we pay at home!) A beach massage is DH's only real request on this vacation, and $140+ sounds MUCH better than $300+ that I saw for the hour massage on CC! I submitted a reservation request through the Island Marketing website, and I am waiting to hear back. Maybe we can share a taxi and save some moolah in the process? I guess we can see.

Yay! It will be good to know someone there. I actually learned about that place via another thread here at Dis. I had been debating even getting off the ship in Cozumel, but the pictures changed my mind in a hurry. :)

We reserved our spot today, so you shouldn't have a problem getting the reservation. I love that they limit how many can be there.

We can totally share a cab if you get your reservation!

ok Just finished my FE gifts!! So Excited. Did a few extra incase we get a few more people!!

Cant wait for you all to see them!! :)

Nochi Cocom sounds great. We were just going to walk around the port area but now may have to re-think our options. I'll admit we are alot braver going out on our own in Key West

There is safety in numbers! :dance3: We were originally questioning whether we'd even get off the boat in Cozumel, but then I realized that the water in CC might be a little too cold for swimming, so we amended our plans to include a little ocean swimming in Cozumel. A little Dis-meet by the beach would be fun!

On the subject of Key West, I think we're going outside of DCL for that one, too. I found that one of the trolley companies (I think it's City View, but I need to verify) let's kids ride free with an adult ticket. It's also hop-on-hop-off. I think that's what we'll end up doing.

Well then I better get started on our fish extender so you'll have a place to put your gift!! I at least know what I'm giving as gifts I just haven't gotten the stuff yet.

I have heard a lot of nice things about nochi. I'm sure you will have a great time!

GOALIEMOM - TOO funny!! I'm a soccer mom, though!!

This is our 1st cruise - ever. I'm a beach bum, normally. Very excited.

Had 2 questions maybe someone here could help me with? Is there a better rotation to request? Like be in a certain restaurant for a certain night? And I can start to book things in 3 days - how does the Kids Club thing work, hours wise? Abd do you HAVE to pre-book? Will they not have any openings once there???? How will I know now what I will be doing then???

Thanks!!

Its something from australia. A little bit of home for me :lmao: Not being nosey at all sinderelly lol.

As long as it is not Vegimite!! My sister spent a semester student teaching in Melbourne? (I think, if wrong she will come on and correct me) and one of things she brought home was Vegimite and I do not need a second tasting to know that it is just not for me!! Now the kangaroo jerky, that was ok. I remember you said something about sweets so I shouldn't have to worry!!

So exited to experience our first FE!!

I can't help you with the dinner rotation but as far as the kids club. Children 3 and over are in the kids club, under 3 are in the nursery. The nursery you would need to pre-book hours and there is a fee but the kids club is free and you can drop off and pick up whenever they are open. Not exactly sure of the hours but I think it is at least 10 am to 11 p.m.

Hope this Helps and Welcome!!

Welcome aboard! You are cruising with a great bunch :rotfl:

You won't know your dining rotation until you get your KTTW card. You can request a change once you board the ship.
