Disney Magic cruise ship rescues stranded boaters

The 16 men and two women were taken on board the Magic and received medical attention, Disney said. They were then given staterooms, and later disembarked in Barcelona.

Was anyone on this cruise???
Thats awesome that the crew went out of their way to rescue these people!! Some Disney Magic right there!

Yes we were on this cruise and the rescue did happen and it was 18 people rescued. We weren't told where they stayed or anything just told that authorities in Barcelona had been advised.

We were also on this cruise .. woke us up!!

The stranded people were locked into a cabin (think it was crew quarters), fed, watered, clothed and medically checked over.
On arrival at barcelona, they were led into a Police van (standard port laws), then they would have been put back on a plane/ship to their country of origin (Algeria) by the Spanish Government/Police.

They don't give them houses/cars/benefits like the UK does.

If you're gonna get stranded then picked up in a boat .. what boat would you want?!! Glad they were ok.
