Disney Killed my Flip Flops, but man I'm Full! Our Anniversary Trip! W/Final Recap!

I just realized we were at DHS on the same day. We went to the American Idol show at 11 or so. A woman won the show we went to. She was a music teacher from Georgia. I guess from your post that she didn't win that night. She had a pretty voice.

Did she sing Colors of the Wind? Her voice really was pretty...that guys was just awesome!

Well, now that I have admitted that I have a problem I think the best fix would be to plan another trip.

I'm thinking that would be just what the Doctor ordered!

I love your updates. It sounds like you had such a great job. I was wondering how the singers at AI would be in September, because they were really good in June. I thought they might drop a notch or two with the lighter crowds...Can't wait to see the Halloween party pictures!

It was about 4:30 when we got to the Magic Kingdom so we used our tickets, got our wristbands and trick-or-treat bags, I got me some Minnie Ears, and we ventured in to set a plan for the party...

It was still kind of early so we went into Adventureland to catch a few rides before the start of the "official" party. We visited the Tiki Room, The Jungle Cruise (Where Fluffy scared the crap out of me...) and then ventured over so my husband could see the Cheesy Goodness that is the Country Bears

After making my husband sit through this, we were headed back to the Hub when the smell of Funnel Cakes made me instantly hungry. I just had to stop at Sleepy Hollow and use a Snack Credit...You can't go wrong with Funnel Cake, even the worst of them are still pretty good!

As we were walking back to the hub, I felt a snap on my head. My ears had broken! I had barely had them on my head for an hour, and they snapped. I know my head is big, but jeez!

It was getting close to 7pm and the start of the party, so we walked up toward Main Street. At this point the sky was getting kind of dark, and I was a little worried. No sooner then I had noticed this, It started to pour! We ducked into the Main Street Bakery, and since we were stuck in there, we got ourselves another one of those Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches!

After our Snack we ran across to the Emporium, grabbed ourselves a couple ponchos, and shoved all of our stuff back into a locker. No rain would keep us from Trick or Treating!

I originally wanted to sit by the hub to keep a spot for the horseman, parade and fireworks, but we quickly changed that plan. We walked over toward the teacups, into Toontown, and around the Mad Hatters trail into Tomorrowland to get our first round of candy! The rain had let up, and it was just about time for the first parade so we made our way toward the hub and snagged a spot to watch. We found out quickly that the Horseman wouldn't ride due to the wet ground...I was a little disappointed, but knew there was always the later parade to catch him.

The parade was cute as usual. That darn song gets stuck in your head! In fact, it still is! I had to buy a CD! I snapped some pictures with my camera since DH's was in a locker tucked away from the rain. They're not the best, but you'll get the general idea...

The rain had pretty much stopped, so we stayed close to the hub to watch HalloWishes. We pretty much just sat on the ground, leaned back, and enjoyed the show. The rain had stopped, so after the fireworks had ended, we made the trek back up Main Street to the lockers to ditch the ponchos, grab the tripod, and go take some more night shots in the park!

Our first shot planned was definitely the Haunted Mansion. The lights look so cool on Party Nights. On our way over there, we saw some lights come on in Frontierland...I got REALLY excited! I knew this meant that the Horseman was going to ride before the second parade!!! Low and behold, my husband found us an awesome break in the crowd just at the point when the Legend of Sleepy Hollow started playing over the Loudspeaker...And up the Street he came! DH was able to quickly snap one shot of him!

He really is an awesome sight to see! While everyone else was enjoying the parade, we went over to the Masion to get our Picture...and thus started our adventure around MK getting pictures, and a LOT of candy along the way!

At this point our sugar high was wearing off and our feet were killing us so we decided to grab a couple Hot Dogs from Casey's and call it a night. It really was fun! We hope to go again next year!

Thanks for the replies Terri! I HIGHLY recommend the Magic Star...it was yummy. The ones at DHS at the Tune In Lounge next to the 50's PTC had the best of all I tried...about the pictures, I'll be sure to pass the compliment onto DH. And as for the Ears...I would have tried to take them back but I had already thrown away the receipt! Oh well, lesson learned!

After getting back from the Halloween Party, we were pretty much exhausted...but we walked in to find another Towel Animal! TOO CUTE!

Before we ripped them off and turned in for the night, we took one last picture of our wrist bands...

We DEFINITELY slept in the next morning...after getting ready, I wanted to take a few minutes to look over our goods from the party

After some sugar, we made our way to the food court for lunch. The next time we go, I REALLY have to get better at remembering to take pictures of our food, because I forgot yet AGAIN!

We both had Quesadilla Platters...They were average. Not Good, Not Bad...it satisfied our hunger. I may have forgotten to take a picture of the food, but DH remembered to take a pic of me embarassing myself in the food court helping the employees do the Macarena!

We then took the Bus back to the Studios to ride our favorite ride!

After riding a couple times, it was on to see Beauty and the Beast! Beast is my absolute favorite character so I was excited! Has anyone else noticed how much they've dumbed down this show? I don't remember it being such a short show...it was like Beauty and the Beast on Speed! I hope this doesn't mean that it may be going away...

We then went back for another ride on the Tower!

We also went over to catch one more Idol Show before heading out to dinner...told you we were addicted!

After this show, we left and made our way over to the Animal Kingdom to have dinner at the Rainforrest Cafe...Stay tuned!

We tried twice but because of the wind could not go up Our last night we were there in Downtown disney when we were leaving we finally say it up-- i was dissapointed I missed a few things i had intentions of doing but didnt get a chance! I love the picture with you and all the candy thats so cute you guys got a lot of candy!! I remmeber when i went in 2006 we got tons of Candy but last year didnt get to much so we decided to skip it this year-- did they go back to giving handfulls out? Also you had wonderful mousekeeping to get all those towel animals!! We only got one the first day we were there -- that was it But they treated you and your hubby very well i am looking forward to reading more

They started out giving small amounts, but after the second parade they were giving it out by the handful. We got a bunch of raisins this year too...at first I didn't mind, but then I thought, I didn't pay all this money for raisins...I want my candy man!

You're welcome! My pleasure! I can't seem to get away from that song...it's everywhere. I think I'll bring my CD to my friend's Halloween Party and make her play it so it can get stuck in everyone else's head too!

After another fun day in the Studios, we decided we were in the mood for the Rainforrest Cafe. This is an old favorite of ours...we used to eat at the one in Maryland, and we've been to both of the ones on property.

We took the bus from the Studios over to the Animal Kingdom to see what the wait was. It was almost closing time over there, so I thought the wait would be long, but we wended up getting in right away!

It was nice and cool in here, and it felt good to get off of our feet since they were still recovering from the Halloween Party the night before!

You'll all be happy to know that I remembered to take pictures!

We always order the Pita Quesadillas as an appetizer. These never disappoint!

DH had the Chicken Caesar Salad...he says it was good:

I ordered the Cobb Salad, no Olives...I like to try new things, but this is one place where I order the same thing every time we go! It's my favorite salad!

After dinner, we hiked our way back over to the busses and head back on over to the hotel. We knew we had to get up early the next day so we decided to relax by the pool and do laundry. It was a nice and chill kind of night. We felt very refreshed after this.

That Cobb salad looks delish. Everyone is crazy about the Cobb Salad at HBD, but I think that Rainforest one is better. I like it a little chunky.

You got some great loot at the Halloween party. Yeah....what's up with the raisins. That's all I got at first, but later on in the night my loot seriously improved.

So today puts us at Thursday, September 17th...I snagged an ADR at Tusker House so we were up early today. We got out to the Bus Stop no later then 7:15am and waited almost 20minutes for a bus! This is why DH and I always give ourselves PLENTY of time to get somewhere!

We got to the park at about 7:40, our ADR wasn't until 8:20. I wanted to give us time to walk around a quiet park for a few minutes.

It was so early the Flamingos were still sleeping!

We strolled casually over to Africa and looked around a bit before checking in and getting our table...

,

We finally arrived at our destination...

I think this Breakfast is MORE then worth it's Table Credit. We were greeted and seated almost immediately after checking in. They offer a photo package when you first get there, but we weren't interested so they took us to our seats.

We were seated toward the back of the restaurant...no big deal. It was kind of exciting being able to see when and where the Characters were coming from. Once we were settled, our lovely waitress took our drink orders and brought us some of that signature juice! Love that stuff! Orange, Pineapple, Passionfruit! YUM! Then it was off to the Buffet! Mickey Waffles, YAY!

My favorite Item at the Buffet is on the above plate down in the corner...it was the Banana Bread Pudding with Vanilla Sauce! I swear I would have eaten a whole pan of that stuff if I knew we weren't going to be walking around the park for the rest of the day!

After a few trips up to the Buffet, it was time for some characters!

Watch out for Daisy, she's a Flirt! She blew Kisses to my husband!

Goofy was Hilarious...I would venture to say that he almost had too much energy for that early in the morning! (by the way, we are not morning people) But he sure was having fun! He liked My husband because they were about the same height!

Then it was time to meet the Big Cheese!

We would definitely do this breakfast again. There was great character interaction, the food was yummy, and it's a great way to get an early start in the park.
