Disney: It's all about the details with the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

Attention to detail in general is one of the reasons I love Disney. As long as they keep that as one of their standards Disney will always remain at the top.

I really don't know what to think about this ride. I love the concept of the mine cars moving back and forth. I will be interested to see what the speed of the train ends up. I don't expect it to be very fast as this is a family attraction.

Based on the videos of the testing it looks pretty slow.

I figured it would be...and should be considering the targeted guests. It will be interesting to see how FP+ is incorporated into this ride as initially it will be overwhelmingly popular.

Check out the lovely piece of artwork that our friends at Walt Disney Imagineering just shared with us – it’s the first look at the new Seven Dwarfs Mine Train logo.

This shot was taken in the direction of the castle wall, Cinderella Castle, Prince Charming Regal Carrousel and Pinocchio’s Village Haus. (You can also see a bit of the construction that’s still going on in this photo).

In addition to these sights, the Imagineers tell us that guests will also get a great view of Prince Eric’s Castle and Storybook Circus during their ride around the mine.

Seven Dwarf Mine Train will open to guests later this spring. Be sure to keep checking the Disney Parks Blog for more information.

Walt Disney Imagineering Shares First Onboard Video of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Magic Kingdom Park http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/bl...even-dwarfs-mine-train-at-magic-kingdom-park/

Just minutes ago, Walt Disney Imagineering released a new video of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train during our live chat with Imagineer Dave Minichiello – and we wanted to be sure you didn’t miss it.

In the video, we compare onboard footage of the attraction side-by-side with an original CGI onboard that was created early on in the attraction’s development.

Looks good. :thumbsup2

This might just make up for the Little Mermaid ride! (Sorry not a fan of that one.) This looks lovely.

I always like to see what the cast member costuming for the ride operators look like. Which seems "goofy" but I am like that :wizard:

My daughter and I were just having this exact conversation last night. People expecting this roller coaster to be a thrill ride are going to be disappointed. It's in Fantasyland after all. It's all about the details, which I LOVE about Disney! I've really enjoyed the pictures, but I can't wait to see the details close up. As far as the ride itself, picture it on the thrill factor similar to Thunder Mountain.

Would you say it's safe to assume that pregnant ladies will not be able to ride?

This is what I was wondering, how this ride would compare to say BTMRR or even the barnstormer? I can ride BTMRR once, maybe twice in our week trip, but only cause my DD23 wants me to ride with her. But I'm, well, both of us really, are not roller coaster people - don't do SM, or SM or RnRC, or any at AK. I'm hoping this SDMT will be very fun but 'lighter'(?) as roller coasters go, it looks cute, fun and I want another ride to ride, lol. Can anyone give me a heads up on what to expect? TIA :thumbsup2

As far as thrills go its seem this is going to be a bit less then BTRR and a bit more then Barnstormer of a coaster. I don't think you will have any problems.

It's shaping up to be a amazing attraction!.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

It looks like it will be a fun ride even at night. I was there in Feb and say them putting in some of the scenery on top. It looked really cool.

I love that it is going to be a more mild coaster for of us that love rides but not the big coasters or thrill rides.

That is why I love Disney so much! They make rides for everyone. Not just the thrill seekers. Most amusement parks I have no desire to go to since there are no rides for me. Disney gives me lots to see and do! Thanks Imagineers and everyone else making this ride a reality!

This week’s photos from Seven Dwarfs Mine Train focus on the “big drop” in the attraction, just after you exit the interior Mine Scene. The top of the mountain is where you come out of the mine – and momentarily get an amazing view of the rest of the New Fantasyland area, including Beast’s Castle, Prince Eric’s castle and Cinderella Castle. (To see that view for yourself, be sure to check out this previously shared ride-through video of the attraction).

This shot was snapped at the end of the drop, which whisks Mine Train Cars past a rushing water fall.

It sure looks like the attraction is coming together! Will you ride when it opens later this spring? Let us know in the “Comments” section below.

Thanks to David Roark for the photos.
The mine train is coming together nicely. :thumbsup2

Excellent, thanks, Tonka's Skipper! That's good to know, I was hoping to get a new ride that wasn't one I'd end up not being able to ride! And, luckily, (well sort of, lol, still a ways away!), not going till Dec so it should be a up and running for a good while and maybe won't be freakishly busy every second by then! :goodvibes

That is just so awesome to hear, and I so agree with you! I love the rides but just can't do the big coasters or thrill rides anymore like I did when I was younger and DD23 has never been a big fan of them. So, this will be great, adding a fun new ride! Of course, FP limits will now be a pain, only able to get 3, so one more to decide which 3 to pick, and or if they add tiering in MK at all. Hopefully that will all be worked out by then! I'm excited to see the pics of the jewels and such inside the ride! Also hope it's not too short of a ride! :)

Those pics look great!

Is anyone aware of any new as to when soft launches and a hard launch would start? I've read a few rumors, but not sure what to believe.

The media event is April 30th through May 2nd. Right now May 2nd at 10:15 AM is when dedication is said to take place for the ride. Soft openings will probably start sometimes in mid April.

~The pics are just fabulous! I posted them on another thread earlier. There is something about drops with me -- even little drops are intense for me! This may be more thrilling than Big Thunder Mountain, imo. I can't imagine how it would feel to go down the hill while swinging from side to side! It looks like it's going to be a lot of fun! We'll see! :cool1:
