Disney is offering $82 a night at values for August - is this instead of free dining?

I posted this over at the resort board, too. This offer was on the Disney Insider email. Now, why would Disney offer this, then turn around and offer free dining? Only to tell the folks that go for the 15% off of values that they have to give that up to do the free dining? That seems sneaking to me!

Free dining is rumored to begin on 8/26/07. It is supposed to be announced on 4/9 to disney visa members and then to general public on 4/12. Min. night requirement is 5 nights. Again I must point out that this is just a rumour, not the official statement from disney itself.

It is also interesting that the offers compares the discount to 2006 prices for the same time. Did the dates for value season happen to change this year?

Value season was pushed up a few weeks this summer.

The so-called August "discount" is just Disney advertising value season rates.

I recd the email that offered $82 per night for 8/5-8/20 OR $57 per night for 8/21-10/03!

Is this a better deal than the free dining?

You should just be able to call in. It's advertised on the website.

OMG $57 a night!!!! I wish I got that e-mail, I only got the $82 per night one!!

The email has a long PIN code on it and when I called CRO they made me verify name/ address/phone to make sure I was the person who it was sent to. It seems the $57 rate is the same as the 40% offer that I received when I booked earlier this year.

If you're referring to the $82/night offer....just book anytime during value season . It's not a discount, just the rates during the value season time at a value resort. Moderate and Deluxes have different (obviously higher) rates. I think most Mods are $145 during value season, and the deluxes vary.

For the $57/night for a value you need a PIN code-which is emailed to you and attached to your name. So, in other words, not everyone can use it, only the person who received the email.
