My family and I are going to Disney in Feb for 8 nights from 2/8-2/16. I was wondering if anyone has gone during that time of year before? Is it cold? What was the avg temp? Was it warm enough to swim at the hotel pools? Was it very crowded. We wanted to go the following week, but that was considered peak time, so we did the 8th-16th instead. Much cheaper like $350 cheaper.

We are staying at the Movies Resort, my 4 year old love Toy Story, so mainly staying there for him. The other child is 1 and so I know she won't remember much, but it gives us a reason to go back when she is older.

Subscribing -- that's when we plan to go too! We're from the COLD Canadian north so I'm sure anything will be warm for us!!!

Be glad you aren't going the following week because it's President's week and most of the schools in the northeast are out for the week making it one of the most crowded weeks.

We will be there from the 8th-16th. This year during that time it was hot most of the days with cool to cold nights. Crowds are pretty good getting more crowded the closer you get to President's weekend. By that Friday night it's very crowded.

I went at the beginning of February of 2006 and it was cold. Too cold to swim (but okay if the pool was heated).

I wore shorts and t-shirts but my boys wore pants and t-shirts. I'm from Canada though so it sure beats the snow....:goodvibes

WESTLAND?!?!?! :yay: I'm from westland AND we'll be there 2/9-2/14, then onto the Wonder. Small World!! We're not too worried about the weather - anything willbe warmer than here! :cool1:

Sometimes it is really cold and other times it is fine. We have gone in February for the past two years and our week - President's Week - was fine and we swam daily but this past year the week prior to when we traveled was freezing. It will start get crowded towards the end of the week because of the holiday and the Daytona 500 crowds.

We went this past February and thought the weather was perfect. For us, anyway. :-) The mornings were cool - we had lightweight fleeces or jackets. But my late morning those came off, and we were in shirts and shorts, capris, etc. Some days it got warm enough to bust out the tank tops. Afternoons at the pool were great as long as you were in the water (they keep the pools heated) but was chilly once you got out. (Think warm cover-ups.) Evenings got cool again, and some nights downright cold. The key is to layer, and be prepared for abosutely anything! :-)

I have to agree with above poster. Be prepared for any kind of weather. We went this year 2-9th and had a great time. At the beginning of our week it was drizzly and cool, but it continued to warm up as the week progressed. It is however cool in the mornings and after dark. Take sweatshirts or jackets for evening parades and fireworks. We even brought our daughters smaller fleece disney blankets to sit on at parades and fireworks at night.

As for as the crowds were concerned, my husband was very happy every day when he would drive through half empty parking lots! I think that thrilled him more than anything.

Go have a great time! Just plan for all kinds of weather. You will probably pack more than you need but will be prepared. I know we packed way more than we usually do because we didn't have just one season to pack for.

Hope that helps! :)

Thanks for the help on the weather situation. I am from TN and its cold here in Feb, like 25-40. That is the month when we get snow, so I guess the warmer days will be nice.

We are so excited about taking our kids. We look everyday on the internet site for new info.

We went about that time just this February. We're from the Northwest, so we enjoyed the warmer weather. Just looked at my pictures from the trip. My kids were mostly dressed in pants and a tee shirt with a lightweight jacket either over the tee or wrapped around their waist. I remember we were never too warm or too cold. My husband visited the pool with one of my sons once and he said the water was perfect, but it was chilly getting in and especially out.

Crowds were very manageable. We love going that time of the year.

We went end of February 2006/beginning of March 2006 and had 14 days of everything.

It was very hot some days, cool other days, downright cold a couple of days struggling to reach 10C/50F and it rained a lot even though the tv was saying it was dry season and the rain made headlines on the local news.

We had been the same time in 2002 and had only 1 cold day, but had a few sunny days with very low humidity which meant it was hot while you were dry but you felt cold getting out of a pool.

Its very strange, but 21C/70F in England is positively tropical and has me moaning about the heat, but in Florida in winter 21C/70F does feel quite chilly possibly because in order for the temperature to drop to 21C/70F the wind has to blow from the North so feels much cooler.

I too, as a Canadian was hoping for a break from the cold. We went, Feb 9-16 this year, and it was much nicer then being at home. (we had a 4ft snowstorm! )
anyways, the weather was cool in morning but nice in afternoon. Definetly need to pack more fall type weather then summer. We wore light jackets for day with tshirts and capri. By mid morning we took jackets off. Temps were in the 70's for afternoon but 1 day was in the low 60's.
