Disney Insider email has value resort deal for August - instead of free dining?

See - I don't get it. I know a lot of folks are hoping for the free dining, and say that - despite all time high reservations - they still think Disney will have the offer. But now Disney is offering a deal on value resort rooms ($82 a night). Why would they do that, then put out the free dining offer? Just to tell these folks that go for the $82 a night rate that they have to lose that %15 discount to get the free dining.

I guess that's why I work in education - I never understand business logic! :)

That offer seems to be the time frame right before free dining is supposed to start. It was 8/5-8/26. Free dining is rumored to start on the 26th so that would be as this one is ending.

Go over to the codes board since this has been discussed.

This is creative Disney advertising for the value season rate not an acutal discount special. The value season started earlier this year then last year.

Free dining was also confirmed this morning starting on 8/26.

Just an FYI, that's not a discounted rate...that's the value season rack rate for a value resort before tax. You could book that past the "offer" date of August 26th and STILL get that price as long as it's within the value season. The 15% savings was compared to last year during those same dates because that specific time frame last year (8/5-8/26) was still regular season, not value season. It's just clever marketing/wording to make it seem like you're getting a discount when you're really not.
