I was wondering how things are in september? We would really like to go to the halloween party, so we could do sept or october (we do have a birthday in early september, and mid october). I heard something about bugs, and also ofcourse there is hurricanes that time of year- anyone have any tips or experience traveling this time of year??
Thank you!!!

We went in Sept in 2007 and absolutely loved it. It was a little busy for free dining but rides were really not that bad. We are booked for the 23rd thru the 30th and can't wait to do MNSSHP (I think I got the initials correctly - LOL)!! It was really hot when we were there in 2007 but I love the hot weather. I didn't really think bugs were a problem.

PS Love your collage - how did you do it?

We have been to WDW in early December, early March and September and, by far, the crowds in September were the lightest (even though the times in December and March were supposed to also be slower seasons also). The heat didn't bother us at all and we had a wonderful 9 days at the parks. We didn't encounter any lovebugs, but it did rain for some portion of 8 days out of the 9 we were there. However, the rain cleared out a lot of the parks and we just wore our ponchos and enjoyed every minute of it. I would go back in September again in a heartbeat! Good luck with your decision!!

I was there from Oct 3-Oct 11 last year and thought other than the rain, it was the best time to go! Slow crowds on the rides and temps were not that bad. And of course the food and wine festival was amazing. We did the Party for the senses and decided it was well worth it! I wanted to do the MNSSHP too, but we spent a bit on the restaurants and the PFTS we tried so really couldn't afford to do that too. But next time!!!!

We travel in Sept alot. I think it's the perfect time. Hot, but no too hot. It's also great going late Sept cuz you get Food & Wine too.

My daughter was a CM from July to January and said the crowds were by far the smallest in September. The luv bugs can be a problem, but that is usually earlier in the month. It is one of the rainiest months in FL, but just don a poncho and keep on treking. Since the lines are so short, you really don't spend a lot of time standing in the rain anyway!!!:woohoo: We have a trip booked this year from 9/23 to 9/30 and can't wait to see all the Halloween deco my DD said the Hallowiscious (sp) fireworks are by far the best that WDW has to offer other than New Years:thumbsup2 (also DS birthday, so this year he gets in free--BONUS!)

Crowds are lower due to kids going back to school and now that MNSSHP and Food and Wine Fest at Epcot starting earlier than they used to, are just added bonuses. However we have never experienced any rain in Sept.
We're booked to go SEpt. 25 - Oct 2/09

We love September. We usually go the weekend of Labor Day. The crowds are low, temps are HOT, and dining is packed with the "free" dining people. We enjoy our September trips a lot. We can do MK including Fantasy Land in about 3 hrs. It's wonderful!! Only thing we have noticed is that the food quality, because of the "free" dining is poor. We have had much better tasting food when we travel in January and May. Not sure if that's the reason but we have noticed a difference. JMO

I almost hate to say it, but we LOVE Sept/Oct! It's our favorite time! Warm enough to swim and enjoy TL, low crowds (although I agree free dining has somewhat changed this....) -- fewer kids b/c they are back to school so that is when we pull dd7 out, lol! We are going 2 weeks this Sept!

Excellent! Thanks for the feedback everyone!!

Oh- and I am totally not a computer person, and could barely figure out how to PM or put these little smiles in my messages, LOL I actually did it wrong several times before I figured that out! :rotfl2: ! I have no idea how my signature works- my husband did it for me! Sorry I can't be of more help!

Thanks again:)
